I spent four days with Maricela in the bedroom with a private bathroom. Maricela is a lovely host, she picked me up at the airport and she talked me through different options of things to do in the upcoming days. She can put you in contact with a guide for any type of activity you would like to do. Her house is very nice, very welcoming (and her dog Niky is lovely!) My room had AC and a hammock in front of the door, super cosy. The bathroom was clean and very big. You can take a moto-taxi to town (Maricela can call one for you) or walk, it takes around 15/20 minutes and it's very secure. I really appreciated that Maricela was always waiting for me when I came back from dinner or activities - as someone travelling alone, it was nice to know someone was looking after me. I would recommend going for lunch in Terras Amazonas (excellent Wifi) and have ice cream at Nàì Chì Gelatería Artesanal after watching the birds settle for the night in Park Santander... Magic!

A recently renovated apartment set in Leticia, APARTA-Refugio El Retiro Verde features a garden. Outdoor dining is also possible at the apartment. Photos don't do it justice. Love this apartment. It is so spacious, you have everything you need to cook properly. It's very comfortable for a small family. The bed was really comfy (hard not sagging!) The bathroom is big with a proper shower unit so water is contained to the shower rather than flooding the bathroom (like in a lot of places!) Oscar is lovely and very willing to help in any way you need and make your stay comfortable. Nice clean towels. The only thing is the mosquitoes! There needs to be something to keep them more at bay as we had a lot in there the second time we stayed. Drop a pin on your maps so that you can direct tuktuks there (it's Barrio nuevo. Afacinte. by the way). The place is in a green location on the edge of town so you have to get a tuktuk in and out of the town but it's quick and 6000 pesos for each way. The spaciousness you get for being further out of the town and the peacefulness is worth it. Thank you so much Oscar 💓 hope to be back one day.

Situated in Leticia, 2.9 km from Tabatinga, Hostal La Esperanza features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. All rooms have a TV with cable channels. Our stay was super nice! The family that owns the hotel are very friendly & welcoming and the rooms are very comfortable & clean. There was a fan and also AC which we could use in the evenings which made everything much easier as it's very hot and humid in Leticia. The room is equipped with everything you may need and very well taken care of. There was housekeeping, which was super helpful, as it rains a lot and it gets muddy so it's easy to get everything a bit dirty. We were very happy with our stay and appreciated the nice atmosphere and welcoming attitude. There is a shop directly by the hotel and the centre is like a 20 minute walk away, but it's a nice walk and not too difficult. The hotel is super close to the airport, which is very practical, as you can just walk directly when you arrive, and it's not noisy. We absolutely recommend it!
