On this trip from Trieste, you’ll get to discover the flavours of Istria – Italy’s northwest peninsula. You’ll learn all about the region’s colourful culinary history and discover how climate and geography have shaped it. Along the way, you’ll get to sample food, wine and liquor too.
First, you’ll travel to Hum, the smallest town in the world. You'll get to taste one of its specialities – spiced brandy made with mistletoe. Then, in the medieval town of Motovun, you’ll get to dive into local truffle products and wines. Grožnjan will be your last stop – a village famous for its art, vineyards and olive groves. Here, you’ll discover some of the village’s best osteria and restaurants.
Along the way your driver-guide will share insights into Istrian culture, pointing out interesting sights as you drive across hilltop villages and lush countryside.
