On this small-group tour, you’ll spend two hours kayaking through the coastal waters of Virginia Beach to get a close-up view of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat. Little to no experience will be required for you to steer the sit-on-top kayak and your guide will help you navigate your kayak along the coast.
After meeting at North End Beach, you’ll receive a short briefing about safety and how to operate the kayak before being launched into the Atlantic Ocean with assistance from your guide. You’ll follow your guide along the coast while keeping an eye out for dolphins. There will also be a chance that you’ll see pelicans, ospreys, cow-nose rays or sea turtles. You’ll paddle to Cape Henry Lighthouse before returning to the launch site.

This tour runs in all weather conditions. Please dress accordingly.
Please allow some time to pay the Park Ranger (USD 8 on weekdays and USD 10 on weekends), park in the main parking lot and head down the walkway to the right of the Chesapeake Bay Center. Your guide will be waiting for you next to the kayaks on the beach.
Please keep your mobile phone handy in case of any last minute changes.
