It's places like this that are the reason I choose hostels over corporate whenever possible (which is almost always). Everything about this place was exceptional—check in was friendly and personal (despite me not speaking very good Spanish), the room was large, clean, very comfortable, and air conditioned, the shower was hot (and it has a nice showerhead), the internet worked perfectly the entire time, they gave me a secure parking space, and allowed me to to checkout late at no extra charge. This is now one of my very favorite places to stay in the city!

This HILLSIDE property is 12 minutes walk or a 3 minute taxi ride from the beach. Cerrito Tropical Eco Lodge offers comfortable relaxing accommodations with an ocean view Plunge Pool and Sun-Terrace. It was one of the most unique places I have ever visit. It is very peaceful and quite and the feeling is like you are in the middle of the forest. Our host Vicky was so nice and amazing.

The stuff is extremely helpful and kind. Special thank you to Gilberto who was very welcoming and nice, sharing some stories about the place and also helped us with a last minute request without any problems. The food is great and super fresher, cooked by lovely ladies. You get to relax and also experience some nature, we have seen animals like caymans, turtles and many birds. We were able to use kayaks which was a lot of fun and the pool itself it’s perfect with an amazing view. Real paradise, I highly recommend it! We rented a car in Panama city and drove here and the road was not so bad as we expected, make sure to follow instructions you receive. You will also get to enjoy a company of two lovely dogs how are the real hosts and guides around the place :)

Breakfast was a fluffy omelet, assorted fruit & yogurt, toast & coffee & fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything we could ask, our hosts were happy to help us with. Lovely stay for us.
