Grasmere is full of lovely walks, you don't have to wander far to be in a super stunning surrounding. The walk around the lake is a pretty easy one to follow mainly flat and has a direct path so hard to get lost, but theres definitely opportunities to wander further a field, up into the hills, or over to the caves also from here. The lake is also a great place to paddle board or boat around, it's large enough and not too busy.
We absolutely loved Mathilde's Café at the Heaton Cooper Studio, the food was just delicious and such a pretty shop, great little seating spot outside providing blankets for al fresco dining. Sam Read Bookshop was also worth a look, there are a number of really lovely shops aside from all the main tourist hot spots in Grasmere. We also enjoyed a drink at Tweedies bar which had a lovely atmosphere and be a great place in the summer as it had a lovely beer garden setting to sit outside.

I found the food not to our taste , outragesly Expensive,
very un basic, could not understand why you have dispensed with basic meals,
Very little or no help with the introduction to the hotel facilities.
Very over priced for what was on offer.

It was beautifully situated ans very tastefully decorated.
It was beautifully situated ans very tastefully decorated. The only downside is there wasn't a shower in our room and I have mobility issues. Also no full length mirror. The bathrooms are rather small, we burnt ourselves on the radiator a few times using the toilet. Obviously that wouldn't be a problem in Summer. I would stay there again but would want a room with a shower which would also give more room to move around.
The food was really good we ate there each night. Bit confused with breakfast. One day we got two slices of bacon the next day one and the poached eggs we're hit and miss, but there was plenty buffet which was excellent.
All in all a lovely place to stay with lovely staff, places to visit all around and breathtaking views.

Grasmere is a lovely place to stay.
Grasmere is a lovely place to stay. The small village is so beautiful and offers plenty of places for fine dining. It is also very central for visiting other places to visit. We enjoyed the boat trip on Ullswater also Keswick has a good market and plenty of traditional and unusual shops.

Isolated location a mile out of Grasmere.
Isolated location a mile out of Grasmere. Good breakfast, no dinner. Poor view from room, room itself dated. Bathroom small but we’ll fitted. Furniture in common parts dated a pretty basic.Never saw owners just three girls aged early 20’s.
Great location within Grasmere, village and lovely walks on the doorstep. Greeted by friendly, knowledgeable staff, the hotel had a relaxed informal feeling about it through our stay.
Beautiful rooms, spacious and nicely decorated, bathroom clean and modern with a brilliant shower, bath also a bonus after a day walking.
We loved the option to help yourself to hot drinks and pastries or scones throughout the afternoon.
Breakfast was plentiful although the hot option a little limited.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Wordsworth Hotel. We stayed in a spacious bedroom with very comfortable bed and high-spec bathroom. We loved the pool and spa facilities. Best of all was the food, we can highly recommend the four course menu at the Signature Restaurant. The staff were excellent, and we would like to thank our waiter Vlad for exceptional service at dinner and breakfast. All in all a great place to stay in Grasmere and we look forward to coming back soon.
Had a fantastic two night stay here, everything was so lovely, we felt welcomed and it was a really relaxing environment to act as a base to explore Grasmere. Very comfortable room,.completed to a really high standard. We were even given an upgrade to our room!
The breakfast was extensive to a very high standard or organic products, we mentioned we were vegan and the gentleman very kindly cooked extra vegan options for us. The homemade bread was a lovely touch
A charming bed and breakfast! The rooms were well appointed and cosy, and the beds were very
comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodated our unexpected late arrival. The
breakfast was spectacular, served up fresh in a beautiful conservatory. The hotel is a short walk from the
Wordsworth Museum and cottage in Grasmere, which is well worth a visit. We would love to stay again
for longer.
Had a lovely stay even though the hotel was full it felt very peaceful. Staff very helpful especially Kim. Nice touch is the pantry offering complimentary fresh scones, pastries and drinks all afternoon.Excellent choice of breakfast. We stayed bed and breakfast but enjoyed an evening meal at The Inn (which is the sister hotel). Thanks Kim and all the staff for a lovely stay we will definitely be back.
The hotel was perfect for our one night stay. The weather was horrible so we spent some time in the very comfortable relaxing hotel lounge. Although it rained constantly we ventured out to Allan Bank, a short 6 minutes walk and also a walk along the path towards Easdale tarn. The food in the restaurant was superb. The bedroom had everything we needed for one night and the bed was very comfortable.
Grasmere is a a town that is central in Lake District and really convenient to get to many places and is a charming little town by itself and the property is situated at a convenient but not too bustling spot. I also liked the effort that was put in to use teas and coffees from Lake District producers and also the Herdy Sheep Teaware, really elevates the experience!
the food is still excellent despite the many other issues with the hotel. the staff did their best and work extremely hard to make you feel welcome and meet your needs. the location of the hotel is excellent and the car park is a bonus as many of the hotels and guest houses in Grasmere have limited parking.
The historical building is beautiful, located amidst flowering trees in historic Grasmere. You can buy breakfast, coffee, beer, and snacks at reception. There are laundry facilities on site and a water bottle filling station. Parking is free. The duvet provided was very comfortable.
Gorgeous hotel, so cosy and charming. Right in the center of Grasmere, it couldn’t be better placed for access to all of the surrounding walks and visits. I loved the decor and the staff were really nice, down to earth and very happy to help. Great breakfast and comfy bed!
Gorgeous hotel and grounds, lovely room and nice spa facilities. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was the best I've had in a while. Location was in the centre of Grasmere and close to walks. Would definitely recommend and will probably stay again.
Location for grasmere. Great hotel and spa.. need the spa after climbing skafell pike.. but was hour n half drive through the hills to get there from skafell..helvellyn is just up the road. Grasmere village is 5 min walk away.
Great location, with easy access to Grasmere and hiking trails. Fit five adults and all of our stuff, with a complete kitchen for the range of meals, nice dinning room, and a living room looking across the lake.
Lovely Location in centre of Grasmere.
The whole hotel was Very clean .
Friendly relaxed staff
Delicious and varied breakfast
Friendly , lively bar and spacious garden area with plenty of seating
So
The location is really good. Just outside of Grasmere, but easily accessible on foot (around a 10 minute walk) and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel.
