If you want to stay in an old traditional house right in the middle of the Latin Quarters of Fontainhas, that’s the place! The terrace is amazing, full of beautiful plants. Jeanette and her family are the best, helped me with absolutely everything, from booking car transfers to preparing the breakfast earlier before walking tours! I would definitely stay here again!

Roy and Sharon have a lovely place bang in the middle of Panaji's famous Latin quarter of Fountainhas, very close to the Kadamba bus station (my family and I walked from it to their place), it is also very close to the promenade/ Mandovi river, the posh Altinho hill (with the CM's Archbishop's residence, Army camp, AIR, DD etc), walking distance to Maruti Temple in Mala, and the best bakeries/ cafes such as 31st January, Joseph's and Gourmestan. First day we walked around the lovely neighbourhood with bars and cafes, lovely bright coloured house facades and bougainvillea draping the walls, took lots of pictures....there is a Mario's gallery (there is a Mario Miranda museum in Porvorim, right opposite Gerard Da Cunha's house which is a must see) closer to the Adil Shah Palace (now an administrative building) where we bought a lot of tiles/ lamps, wall pieces. Lots of vegetarian options such as Vihar and Kamat for lunch and dinner. On the second day we hired Eknath( 91 982325 8383) a wonderful local driver who knows his temples so visited Tambdi Surla/ Kavlem/ Bandiwade/ Veling/ Manguesh/ Nagesh/ Keri/ Savoi Verem and Marcel temples which were simply spectacular. The temples themselves are colourful with dome like structures which remind one of basilicas...on our third and last day (too short I know!) we did the regular sights like Fort Aguada , Lower Aguada, and the beach stretch - Roy recommended Reis Magos which is a climb but totally worth it. Breakfast at Roy and Sharon's was hearty with many choices, with a hot veggie option too, served in their beautiful garden. I loved their sambar and chana curry with Mangalore banana bread. Ismail was helpful with the TV when it was not playing any channels and he changed the box for us. We were asked to pay in cash so be mindful of that, and were given a receipt promptly for the same.

I like how the room was spacious and clean; the staff was a very good guide and very helpful. The food was amazing and delicious. The location is perfect as it helps access many places easily and in short time

I recently had the pleasure of staying at O Hotel Candolim with my family, and I must say it exceeded our expectations in many ways. From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Praveen at the Reception desk deserves a special mention for providing us with an early check-in at 8 am, which is a rarity in the world of hotels. This gesture allowed us to start our vacation on a fantastic note. The hotel's prime location right on the beach was a big plus, and the breakfast buffet was a delightful way to kick off our mornings. Throughout our 3-day stay, the housekeeping team, led by Azhar, did an outstanding job. They went the extra mile to ensure our room was impeccably clean, making us feel comfortable and well taken care of. While O Hotel Candolim might not fit the exact mold of a premium 5-star hotel, it certainly has everything needed to create lasting memories. The staff's dedication and attention to detail, along with the beautiful location, make it a wonderful place to stay. Another standout moment of our stay was when Omkar at Reception offered us a late check-out until 3 pm, allowing us to make the most of our time there. I must admit that I had reservations about our stay due to some negative reviews I had read earlier. However, I can confidently say that all those concerns seem to have been addressed, as we didn't encounter any issues during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at O Hotel Candolim, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
