Casa do Romezal is a typical Douro Valley house, surrounded by vineyards and providing stunning views over the surroundings. It was the most beautiful apartment we ever rented in a vineyard with an amazing view. The apartment was even more beautiful than the pictures. Margarida the host was very warm and welcoming and gave us a lot of tips and made us a delicious breakfast. With her brother we did a tour in the vineyards and winetasting. I really recommend this place, it was a perfect stay!

There are hiking trails where you can do bird watching and go thru the wine yards. There are facilities for kayaking too, everything included (paddles, kayaks, and lifesavers). The stay includes a tour of the process and degustation of wine.

Quinta de Fiães lies along the Douro Valley, just 1 km from the centre of the village of Vilar de Maçada. The Quinta looks out over the vine terraced countryside offering magnificent views. Surrounded by nature - lizards, geckos, birds of prey calling to each other. Small frogs jumping in the rock pools. Friendly family dogs to talk to. A relaxing haven . The family and staff are exceptionally kind and helpful which enhanced the tranquility found at the Quinta.
