„The windmill is in a great location to see all the sites. We visited Avignon, Nîmes, Arles, Gordes, Pont du Gard, Carcassonne, Beau de Provence all from here. It is a lovely stroll into the local quaint village with boulangerie and a few restaurants. The owner, Guillaume, is extremely nice and very helpful. He offered us a bottle of wine from his vineyard which was very good. It is worth a visit to his family’s Chateau du Bosc with motorbike, and bicycle collection. His father Claude was very kind and had the time to show us around.
Our kids loved the space outside the windmill to explore and especially loved the secret door inside the windmill from the bedroom down to the lower level kitchen and living room.

„Véronique and Patrice are perfect hosts, around if you need them and allow you to just unwind. They are happy to book restaurants etc for you and are helpful with ways to explore the area. The three gites are all separated so you have privacy. We took the smaller of the three with the outdoor well-equipped little kitchen and it's own bit of a wood to relax in. They keep the all the gites in immaculate condition - they invited me to see them - and each gite has it's own little decking area to hang out in.
The pool and terrace are phenomenal with views of the Pont du Gard which is walkable to. They attend to the pool perfectly, it's fresh water pumped up from underground with few chemicals and the terrace and pool have the sun all day. The garden surrounding the pool was just amazing as was the way they've kept the little wood and trees between the gites, it looks naturally wild but not overgrown. It is so tranquil and peaceful.
Castillon du Gard is about a 10 minute walk uphill and there's a market there on Tuesdays. There is also a butcher, a boulangerie wich also sells a few household items (many are provided by the hosts) and a tabac that sells beer amongst other things.. and really lovely restaurants.
Pont du Gard is incredible - and you can hire kayaks to go down the river.
It was so fabulous that despite liking to visit different places, we are going to return next year for a shorter stay. We spent a fortnight there and getting the Eurostar direct from London to Avignon was a massive bonus.
My honest opinion is do not hesitate to book Gite Lackocote - the area, the views, the tranquility, the hosts, the pool, the terrace, the gite - perfection.“
