“This hotel was a wonderful surprise: websites said 2 stars, but it was a 4 star hotel at least! The room was large with a large wardrobe and a separate area for the enormous and ridiculously comfortable bed. It even had a single induction stovetop with a small pot on the desktop, so you could boil water for tea or coffee, or have a warm glass of milk before bed. The hotel was clean, as-new and had lovely decor (not bland, stylish!). Staff were lovely and very helpful (but that's standard in Japan). It was also well-located, in the middle of the city and a short walk from the station. Breakfast was lovely; ample options of both Japanese dishes and Western dishes, hot and cold, and variation across days. The sitting area with nice couches, coffee machine and fireplace was a convenient place to catch up with friends late at night when the local cafes and restaurants had closed. After numerous 3* and 4* hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto and Kukuoka, this 2 star hotel was by far the nicest one we stayed in over our 3 week trip!“
