This place is much better than the pictures make it look! The facilities are in tip-top shape, everything is super clean, and best of all, the room was much bigger than it looked, and the bunk bed was extremely comfortable.

Located in the historical town of Magome, Tajimaya features Japanese-style accommodations in a 110-year old building. Each room features a flat-screen TV, and guests can relax in the public bath. - Beautiful old property - Private shower and a bath. The shower rooms are shared, but everyone gets their own reserved time to wash so you can enjoy them in peace. - Great dinner and breakfast - Two small separate rooms for sleeping and sitting/hanging out. - The futon was comfy and the bedding was thick and nicely warm.

The host was super friendly and very helpful, even when we had some additional requests. Thanks so much for all the help! The rooms were veeery spacious (converted classrooms). The shared toilet & shower facilities were also very clean and nice—overall the building interior felt very new.

Amazing location in Magome, right on the main path. The owner is very friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed our stay here. It’s very comfy and spacious and in a historic home. :)

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor. We had a wonderful stay at Magome Chaya. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had just enough space for two pieces of luggage plus the futon beds. Dinner and breakfast is also offered and it was great. We got served a variety of small japanese style dishes. Very nice experience staying at a traditional place like this. Magome itself is also just beautiful.
