Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Hiro is a great host.the common room was nicely equipped and you can get bento boxes and some ramen in the hostel.
It is right in the forest, so a beautiful place and in the middle of all sightseeing spots.
The owner is a wonderful sweet man, that really cares about you. He has helped me plan my hiking trips in the mountains, and has been very keen on safety.
Generally he has just been really nice and extremely helpful.
Light breakfast was fine. The location was very convenient to restaurants and bus stop. Staff members were very pleasant and helpful, allowing us to check in early. Nice view of the river from front of hostel. Linen and towels were clean.
Lovely cottage in the woods! Great location near to the key sights and hosts are extremely thoughtful…everything—literally everything—was provided except a Zojirushi rice cooker. The accommodation seemed new too, and was spotlessly clean. We saw a shooting star on our last night there near our porch and it was simply magical!
Great location with sea view and close to the ferry port, shops, nice izakayas. We got a very comfortable and spatious room with all facilities and ammenities taken care of. Staff was very kind and helpful.
You can't beat the location of this little guesthouse, just two minutes walk from the ferry. Very helfpul host. Comfortable rooms, more like a youth hostel than a hotel but very nice nonetheless.
The place meets the expectation and true to pictures shown in the gallery. It is kind of a youth hostel where you share the bathroom, toilet, kitchen and living room. That is what makes the place fun and more interesting. It is not crowded so don't worry. You can still enjoy your quiet time. However, the best thing of the place is the owner! Such a fun and good vibe person.
Fantastic owner that is super helpful and knowledgeable. The hostel is also a great place to hang out and meet new people from all over Japan!
I will definitely stay in this hostel again if I go to Yakushima one more time.
