With its prime position on the Esplanade, this fantastic family-sized apartment is a stone’s throw from the sand and surf. Take in the sunrise from the balcony or sip an afternoon wine to the crashing sounds of the wave. You’ll enjoy ocean views and beautiful natural light throughout. Originally built as two apartments, they have been combined to create an oversized elevated retreat. Whip up a feast in either of the two kitchens, fully equipped for your holiday catering. A generously sized dining table makes it easy for groups to come together for a shared meal at home, while dual air-conditioned living areas mean there’s plenty of space to put your legs up at the end of the day. On a working holiday? Make use of the dedicated office area with a proper desk and chair. Four bedrooms each come well-appointed for a good night’s sleep with ceiling fans to keep things comfortable. Two of the bedrooms are set with queen-sized beds and come with mirrored wardrobes for storing your belongings. The two remaining bedrooms feature king-singles, ideal for those travelling with kids, and you’ll find books, board games and a TV for your entertainment. Both bathrooms come with bathtubs and separate showers and are stocked with complimentary toiletries for your stay. Internal laundry facilities also add to your everyday convenience with a washing machine and dryer. Free street parking is available.

The trendy seaside suburb of Thirroul lies roughly 15 minutes north of Wollongong and just over an hour south of Sydney. Drive here via the photogenic Sea Cliff Bridge, which juts out over the water and has become an icon of the Grand Pacific Drive. Stop for lunch at The Scarborough Hotel, taking in spectacular views across the sea. Hit the waves at Thirroul Beach before brunch at one of the neighbourhood’s popular cafes, such as Blackbird, Wilde or South Sailor. If you’re travelling with the kids, don’t miss a day out at Symbio Wildlife Park or Jamberoo Action Park, both close by.
