For us, the hotel is perfectly situated - it’s an easy 3-4 block walk to the harbor and the pedestrian shopping street, yet the hotel itself is in a quiet area. It’s the best of both worlds!

Beautiful place, great for families. Leave the car in one of the car parks on the periphery of town and enjoy easy cycles and fresh air! We didn’t use our car again once the bikes were hired for the week. We went out of season, can imagine the cycling gets a bit manic in high season.

The overall ambiance is superb. Good restaurants.
The overall ambiance is superb. Good restaurants. Very busy during the day.
Not the cheapest on Ile de Re and certainly not in France. Bridge toll is high.
Weather can be very fickle..............
We love it and the rest of the island.
Parking is very expensive but parking at the beach less than a mile to walk back is free.

Saint Martin de Re is worth visiting and there lovely fish restaurants, shops and possibly to go on cruises.
But I would recommend anyone not to stay at La Maison Douce as I had a terrible experience.
Book hotel in advance as it gets very busy until end of September.

Saint-Martin de Re is a charming village on Ile de Re.
Saint-Martin de Re is a charming village on Ile de Re. Great restaurants, wonderful bike paths, narrow streets that beckon you to explore. It’s status as one of France’s most beautiful villages is well -deserved! Don’t miss LaMartiniere, a family-run ice cream shop on the harbor in St. Martin and also by the Phare des Balleins.

The capital of this delightful island off La Rochelle (connected by a fine bridge), busy in high season, but with a super market and some very good shops and restaurants of great variety. Charming and quieter back streets, and a great base for cycling around the island.

A vibrant port area on the Island, where the larger ships dock in the harbour. Full of good bars and restaurants. Many people come into town for the evening and promenade around the harbour. There is a great choice of restaurants, from easy-going to high-class. It's a great place to have a very good evening of food, drink and "people watching".

The breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. Alex is a very warm host and took care to provide items he knew we liked. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, muesli, whole meal bread ... but also several delicious pastries/croissants which we couldn't resist. The breakfast and personal service took this hotel to a level which exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful, spacious and full of character. Elodie the manager was prompt and friendly. Great location near the harbor but it is very quiet - the only thing I heard at night were gulls. The bathroom was as what you’d expect to find in a much more expensive hotel. Nice bath products.
A wonderful boutique hotel, tucked away on a little street away from the tourists and harbor.
The reception And breakfast staff were very helpful and the breakfast Was lovely, served buffet style in a sweet garden setting.
I hope to return to Île-de-Re and this hotel.
A good hotel in the centre of St Martin with private parking, We only stayed for 1 night and every thing was fine. We would make a comment that the check in staff were particularly friendly polite and welcoming

Gorgeous property styled in an eclectic personal way.
Jerome, was the ultimate host. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Comfortable rooms and the position of the Hotel in St Martin was amazing.
Charming staff, excellent breakfast and we loved the cocktails in the courtyard garden, filled with the scent of jasmine
Would definitely recommend this hotel.
