This holiday home is located on a beautiful, small farm in Boussenac. Sustainability and love for nature, the environment and the animals are very important here. The house has beautiful views over the Massat valley, with a phenomenal view of Mont Valier in the background. In winter, the small herd of Galloway cows lives around the house, while in summer they live on the 'estives'; the summer pastures higher up in the mountains. There is also a beautiful vegetable garden next to the house where seasonal vegetables can be bought. The house itself is a recently renovated old grange, with all the amenities one needs for the perfect holiday. The well-equipped kitchen includes an induction cooker, an oven and a dishwasher. There is also a bathroom with shower and bathtub. A washing machine can also be used. But the most important thing is of course the beautiful surroundings; the views, the peace, the babbling brooks in the fields around the house. The animals on the farm live in harmony with the wildlife you regularly see here, such as the herds of deer that make their characteristic sounds in autumn, numerous species of birds and, of course, smaller game such as badgers and foxes. In addition, 'Chez Judith' is also all about good, organic and local food. The host, Judith, is not only a farmer's wife but also a passionate cook and, on request, she prepares the most delicious meals using products from her own farm and the surrounding area. Packed lunches and breakfast can also be prepared for guests. In short, the house and its surroundings offer everything a person needs for a wonderful holiday in nature.
The young farmers, Erik and Judith, are the hosts of this beautiful holiday home. Besides their passion for farm life, animals, nature and this environment, they love to welcome people to this fantastic place. Erik, originally from Germany, and Judith, originally from the Netherlands, have both found their home in the Ariège mountains. It is the beautiful surroundings, the peace, nature and wilderness that have stolen their hearts. Together they run a small, agro-tourism business in Boussenac, where they combine their love for the mountains, for animals and for good food and hospitality. Before her life as a farmer, Judith worked for a long time as a cook in various restaurants and tourism companies. She now applies her passion for cooking in preparing meals for her guests, using as much self-produced food as possible; from meat to vegetables. In short, for a fully catered holiday, the house 'Chez Judith' is the right place to be! Delicious meals are prepared on request, from burgers, steaks, or côte de boeuf to vegetarian or even vegan meals. Breakfast and lunch are also among the options. It is the love for the mountains that brought Judith to the Pyrenees. She knows the mountains and the surroundings very well, and is always ready with tips and advice and likes to take her guests into the mountains. This is why she has been organising active holidays for her guests for some time now. From hiking trips to wild camping, but also by helping organise activities such as canyoning, caving, climbing and paragliding. Besides the beautiful surroundings, you will not lack anything in your holidays with these hosts.
The area around the holiday home is downright beautiful. From the terrace behind the house there is a beautiful view of Mont Valier, also called the 'Seigneur du Couserans'. It is the mountains that dominate the area, offering everything for a wonderful holiday in nature. The possibilities are endless; bike rides over collen known from the Tour de France, mountain biking, canyoning, climbing, caving, paragliding, and of course the countless hiking possibilities. From hiking on relatively simple, well-marked trails to challenging treks to the high peaks of the Pyrenees. In winter, one finds several ski resorts within an hour's drive from the house. Besides the adventures to be had in the mountains, there is also much to discover culturally. The castle of Foix and several ancient Cathar castles characterise the rich historical history of the area. Local markets, such as the famous market in the town of St. Girons, are well worth a visit, and larger places such as Toulouse and the mountain state of Andorra are also within driving distance. In summer, the various villages around the house often have events to visit, such as the evening market in Massat and all kinds of village festivals. But the main reason to book a holiday 'Chez Judith' is the nature, the peace and quiet, and the beautiful surroundings. And, of course, not forgetting the delicious food produced on the farm.
