From the welcoming qualities of the staff to the comfort and the space of the room/bathroom, it all felt like what was advertised : a charming and cosy place to rest and have breakfast around the town center, next to the main touristic places.

All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble, the rooms and grounds were clean and tidy and a very convenient location to Amboise centre and other local chateaux. The restaurant is superb fantastic food and service we even asked about a meal we had eaten there previously and on the second night they put it on the menu for us , excellent, we could not have asked for more, we would recommend this hotel to anyone, thank you.

Amboise is absolutely charming!
Amboise is absolutely charming! Chateau Amboise is one of my favorites and Clos Luce is a must as Leonardo da Vinci's last home. I was there in February for only 2 nights, so unfortunately, the Garage de l'Art was closed. However, I did meet Fernand Martin-Dumagny, the owner and artist, across the street at the brewery. Everyone was very kind and hospitable; I really wish I had more time to enjoy this lovely town!

If you want to be surrounded by Americans when you are in a foreign country then Amboise is the place for you. On the positive side, my traveling companion became ill while we were in Amboise, and I felt perfectly comfortable going out in the evening by myself. In a larger city, that might not have been th case. Similarly, it was easy to get in and out of Amboise to see many other sites in the Loire Valley

If you are considering a trip to the Loire Valley, we recommend Amboise as the hub. Why? It's a charming village right on the Loire River with it's own chateau right in the town. Much smaller than Tours, close to the rail line, affordable and attractive hotels and B&Bs, and close to premier chateaux such as Chenonceau and Chambord. Lots of restaurants and cute shops.

Beautiful buildings and numerous sites to explore and lots of restaurant choices all within walking distance of the B&B. We even found a wonderful little brew pub ("Art is an Ale") with locals enjoying the beers.

So much to see and not enough time to see it all!
So much to see and not enough time to see it all! Lots of restaurants, cafes, and a wonderful shopping area. The castle, museums and Leonardo da Vinci house etc is very interesting. Being by the river, the views are lovely too. It is very easy to get around on foot. Some streets are cobbled so might not be too suitable for wheelchairs.
Everything about this place was amazing!!! The rooms were very rustic and comfy. The location is great for exploring Amboise or even a good home base for discovering the Chateaus of the region. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant one night and it was the best meal we had in Amboise. After our meal, they served us Calvados in another room in front of a fireplace, very charming and romantic. They also have a great selection of local wines that you can purchase. The breakfast was also on point.
Best attribute is the close proximity to the old town of Amboise and the castle. Friendly, helpful host and a squeaky clean apartment with comfortable beds and a very well-equipped kitchen - perfect stay should one need a base from which to visit the castles of the Loire in the region of Amboise. Parking on-site, right outside the door was a bonus. Many great restaurants in the street bordering Chateau Royal.
Amazingly convenient location in the centre of Amboise, right near the chateau and many restaurants. The breakfast was croissant, baguette and jams, with orange juice and coffee. They'll make you an espresso if you ask, which was awesome. Even though we were told the wifi wouldn't work in the room, only communal areas, it stretched to our room, which was convenient.
Beautiful chateau that felt like home but had great amenities. Believe me, I have never been so happy to have A.C. due to the heatwave and an elevator to make getting the luggage in the room easy. Also, it has an excellent location to visit chateau du Chenonceaux and Amboise. Beautiful rooms, living spaces, and park. Friendly staff too! Thank you Laurence!!!
My husband loved the space after being in small hotels. He liked cooking and the size. I liked that it was close to sights and shopping in Amboise and walkable to train station. The lady who ran it came over in the rain to meet us. She arranged for a taxi for us since we don’t drive so we could visit some castles. The town and sights are just beautiful!
The house was amazing! It had an amazing view with a wonderful yard. It was also in a wonderful location in the center of Amboise. The hosts were very kind and gracious, very welcoming and helpful with whatever we needed. They even helped to send us something we left behind! We highly recommend others stay at Le Clos Richelieu, it was perfect!!
The apartment is charming and spacious. We loved the character! Kitchen was well equipped. There was plenty of space for three adults and a teenager. The best part was the location, just steps from the city center. In the evenings, we enjoyed staring up at the Chateau from our private patio to watch the lights. Excellent stay.
Roselyne is a very friendly and helpful host. Château d'Amboise is at walkable distance. As others have mentioned, parking is just in front of the house and there are enough places to eat (especially near the Château). It is very beautiful to walk along the river shore during evening (in June).
Charming staff. Very comfortable room. Very good restaurant. Excellent stopping-off point when driving from SW France to Calais. It's the third Novotel in the region that we have tried (the others being Le mans and Orleans). They have all been of a good standard but this is the best in my view.
I liked everything about this hôtel. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. It was an easy, quick walk into busy main street of Amboise and just far enough away that the hotel was a peaceful oasis.
The receptionist is very helpful and friendly. The hotel is convenient for me to walk around Amboise town on foot and to reach each Chateau Chaumont and Chenonceau by car in less than half an hour. Most importantly, the hotel has a private car park area.
It had the best breakfast we’ve ever had in France, almost entirely home-made. The host was welcoming and the room was charming and comfortable. It was also a very reasonable walk to the restaurants in the centre of town, and the Loire.
The ambience, the picturesque location in front of the chateau with views over the river were amazing. The place itself was exquisite and I would definitely stay here next time in this part of France. Everything was 10/10
Lovely hotel in a superb location - five minute walk to centre of Amboise. Brilliant staff and excellent quality of room. The gorgeous outdoor pool was very welcome in the 38 degrees heat. ample and easy parking.
Beautiful renovated maison particulière overlooking the river just below the ramparts of the Chateau d’Amboise, steps away from the pedestrian center. Gorgeous interiors. Agnes is a wonderful host.
Very central location, nearby the city centre of Amboise. Free parking space in front of the hotel. Room was small but tidy. Breakfast was fine for the price of €10 p/p.
Lovely welcoming staff team, a really wonderful hotel with great breakfast. Also an excellent location, you can easily reach Amboise by walking in around 10 minutes.
Location was brilliant, right around the corner (2minute) walk to the bulk of the bars/restaurants, Royal Chateau de Amboise. Free parking was 7 minute walk away.
So convenient to all the city has to offer, chateaux, food, shopping and history.
So welcoming and well appointed, a great place to spend our 3 days in Amboise!
