Ballavere Cottage in the south of the Isle of Man offers a Bed & Breakfast experience like no other. Off road parking for your car is available to the side of the property and we offer secure, covered parking for your cycles or motorcycles.

Judy and David are now retired and have been welcoming guests to Ballavere for over six years. Judy enjoyed the title of Chief Financial Officer at one of the Island’s largest ship management companies and David enjoyed photographing both high end weddings and motorsport events throughout the World. Life for both has now calmed dramatically as they spend most of their spare time in the lovely garden when not looking after their valued guests. Judy and David began the faithful and traditional renovation of Ballavere in 1997, and a further redesign of the garden took place in 2020. An available scrapbook documents the extensive work undertaken at Ballavere Cottage. They work very well as a team to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Ballavere Cottage is just a twenty minute drive from from the Island’s ferry terminal and just a nine minutes from our small airport. To catch a steam train north to Douglas or south to Port Erin involves just a seven minute walk to the station or if you prefer the public bus service, the stop is right outside your front door enjoying a passing bus each half hour. A delightful fifteen minute walk will take you to the wonderful beach at Gansey Bay. Our village pub, The Colby Glen offers fine ales, friendly service wonderful food and is just an eight minute walk. Adjacent is the well stocked village store. Slightly further afield and with a twenty five minute walk, is the Shore Hotel. A substantial directory of further eateries and attractions will be available for you at Ballavere.
