Our stay at Lakeview Lodge was delightful! The lodge was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, providing a cozy retreat for our night away. The owners' communication was excellent, and the thoughtful touches, like the treats for us, made us feel truly welcome. Definitely exceeded our expections.

The location was very good - and easy walk into the centre of the town. Breakfast was a 'continental' self-service buffet with a great choice of items. The property is charmingly quirky but very comfortable. The host was very welcoming.

The property is very rural and closer to Hay on Wye than Builth. If you like holidays that are mainly rural/scenic with small towns then this is good. Good for cycling etc Hay is a bijou town and Brecon appealing. We visited a few old churches close by, many from Norman times - fantastic. Art exhibitions in both Hay and Brecon. Eating in hay is relatively cheap and most appealing

We stayed at Builth 1) Because that was the location of the cabin.2) Builth is close to Rhayader and we wanted to see the dam and scenery there.3) Builth itself had a good choice of places to eat and is a nice town with good sized car park.It is easy to get around Builth and has a good choice of places to eat from cafes to restaurants. Can't say there is anything we would avoid.

The township is lovely, plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. Clean well kept town with a sense pride. Friendly too. There is the river with a long path running alongside it. This is used by the locals with kids or walking their dogs. Always people out and about.

A small friendly Welsh town famous for the Royal Welsh Showground with its wonderful events at different times throughout the year. Beautiful location within a scenic, rural, surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains, and close to Brecon Beacons National Park. Enough options for all needs, re restaurants, pubs and shops. But not too much to be overwhelming, nicely accessible for our short stay.

Beautiful spotless comfy accommodation.
Beautiful spotless comfy accommodation. We were staying for the Hay Festival and although off the beaten track, it was pretty close to Hay on Wye. The owners left some Welsh cakes and a bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. The accommodation is brand new and has everything one needs. Would highly recommend.

Lovely scenic walk along river great access with trains and Buses
Loved the show at the Royal Welsh showground
The hotel is situated in the middle of the Welsh National Showground. We were glad that we did some research during daylight and found the hotel; it would have been very difficult to find on the dark, although there were good signposts up until the final stages. We were able to telephone the manager, and were pointed to the appropriate door!
The room more than met our expectations and it was exceptionally clean. The hotel was only just recovering from COVID, and the only part that was open was the accommodation.
Beautiful Setting with amazing, experienced hosts. We were made to feel very welcome here. The room was immaculately clean with premium facilities. We had two early starts, the hosts accommodated early breakfasts for us, which we were very grateful for. David cooked the breakfast to perfection. All ingredients were of a high quality. Small bottles of Welsh water in the room was a nice touch. Close to the Royal Welsh showground, very convenient. Highly responsive to emails and requests
Amazing stay at a beautiful hotel with gorgeous grounds and surroundings, we will definitely be returning to stay again. We stayed in the Wye room, which was huge and very nicely decorated. It had 2 big comfy beds and a seating area and so much space. The room overlooked the grounds which where immaculate. We even took a picnic to the river one evening which was nice. I really couldn't fault this hotel, it should be 5 star.
Great find - the hotel is on what appears to be a busy road but once inside you would never have known. Rooms and common areas were really well appointed - we had a family room (2 adults + 2 teens) and had much more space than we expected. We also had our dog who enjoyed his time too. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the Thai food was amazing. Next time we are in the area we will be back
That there was a good welcome on arrival, parking was easy, there was a great folder with the history of the town, lots of books adding a homely touch, and home made biscuits and chocolate drinking mixture which is a rarity in a hotel. The breakfast was made from local produce, and overall a relaxed atmosphere.
A great place to stop when travelling through Wales.
So welcoming from the meet and greet at the door to carrying our bags up the stairs. The whole place had such a homely feel and you were made to feel like it was truly a pleasure to have you there. The prettiest little guest house, pristine, with great food and attention to every detail. I will definitely go back if I'm in the area again!
This small hotel is excellent value for money. The accommodation was clean, warm and vey comfortable. Staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Such good quality and beautifully presented. The hotel was really good for travelling to The Royal Welsh Showground.
The location is beautiful, the nearby town Builth was a 20 min walk over a rope bridge through the hotel estate and along the river to the small bridge. The people of Builth are very friendly and the town hosts many local pubs which all will give you a warm welcome.
The lodge was very clean and more spacious in the living area than we expected. The weather was a bit chilly in the evenings and it was good to have heaters to keep the place warm. We very much enjoyed watching the rabbits and birds and the lovely surroundings.
Tony and Sandra were great hosts and gave us lots of information about the local area for exploring. The breakfast was excellent, especially the homemade yoghurt. The room was comfortable and spacious with all you could need for your stay.
The whole experience at Smithfield Farm was excellent. We were provided with home made cake every day which was a bonus plus we have to say that the breakfast was exceptional. We will book there again if we ever return to that area.
Breakfast was lovely, though felt a bit of pressure to be down at time specified the night before. The room was very nice and spacious, with privacy for each twin bed. Car park on site, and excellent location on the high street.
The room was very large, very clean and very comfortable, the host even delivered breakfast personally to our table in our room, never had that before, if you are going to this part of Wales, then stay here, 4 star plus.
Thai dinner and breakfast excellent. Host very accommodating. Cleanliness exceptional and better than some 5star hotels. Very central, just a short walk over the bridge and you're in the high street
