Garden Cottage is a former miners' cottage situated in the centre of the village of Tyndrum, within Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and on the West Highland Way (long distance walk from Glasgow to Fort William). Recently Scotgold opened a gold mine in the Cononish hills, an hours walk from the cottage. Perfect base for exploring Highlands, Munro bagging, cycling or just chilling out. Local amenities - pub, restaurant, cafe, petrol station, well stocked mini market - 2 minutes walk.

Lived in Tyndrum all my life. Joined the Fire service in 1982. Enjoy competing on special stage car rallies with various Mark 2 escorts. I also enjoy skiing, mountain biking, walking and running. I am available for any questions by phone, text or email.

This part of the village is known as Clifton and owes its growth to the sinking of a lead mine in the 19th century. Sir Robert Clifton took a mining lease from the Earl of Breadalbane's estate in 1730 and 1741. Garden Cottage is a 30 minute drive from Glencoe, less than one hour drive from Callander and the coastal town of Oban. The village boasts 2 train stations, one allows you to take the iconic West Highland Line to Mallaig, over the Glenfinnan Viaduct. This will be well known to Harry Potter fans! The other line (Lower Station) will take you south to Glasgow or north to Oban.
