My second visit.....its simply excellent value !
Tight entrance to shower...a lttle snug for a growing lad !
Arrived at 8.30 pm and room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. I had to wait in the bar while this was done. Also I was over charged on the advertised price but didn't realize this until I returned home.
Location Friendly staff Relatively quiet
Very tired bathroom and shower TV signal was terrible
Staff member Shakil
Smell of sewers (pooh)in my room for 4 days. Room 10 Inconsistent food standard, even though I had the exact same meal twice, it was frozen chicken the second time. Very small room and shower cubicle
My stay was a very short stay, the staff are faultless, extremley helpful and make you very welcome. The hotel is in a very peaceful and pretty surroundings. I would stay there again!!
If I were to criticise, the only thing I would say is the check out time (10am) is a little too early.
Close to work, helpful staff, would stay again
Only negative , was wifi did not work properly in my room, so could not work on laptop so had to watch Tv and sadly signal was intermittent
Fire exit blocked Food sent back very poor standard, dirty room, cold shower, noisy till 12.30am(staff) Fire exit blocked and not first time this has been reported on here! Not at all a 4 star
Nice small Hotel close to Dewsbury centar. Everything is cosy, very nice restaurant as well as bar at Hotel. Rooms are also nice. Nice big garden where you can enjoy your free time and take a rest. Free wifi and good parking. Good value for money !!
It was a bit cold and I have asked receptionist to turn on the heating for a several times and he promised to me he would do it, but he has never made it !!! I was freezing all night, what was unacceptable and not proffesionall.
This is a small family run hotel with genuine character. It is not in a perfect location but this is reflected in the very good room rates. The bar is contemporary with lots of comfy seats, an attractive conservatory leads to large well established grounds with lost of outdoor seating. We stayed in the cottage suite which offered excellent space and comfort with a particular mention for the double jacuzzi bath (decadent and indulgent we loved it!) Overall if you are sick of faceless Travelodge clones this hotel will put a smile back on your face.
The younger members of staff seemed strangely distant, not rude but definitely disinterested. Older members of staff were attentive, helpful and friendly so it is hard to understand why the younger ones were not more motivated. Put this right and this hotel would jump straight into our top 5 of places to stay.
It was comfortable,clean n relaxing.
A bit tired. Fire exit obstructed!
The location easy access to local walks and nature reserves
Nothing it was good all round for us
The helpful staff and easy of checking in.
Minor faults.Shower door did not close fully because of the position of the shower unit. TV kept losing signal. But nothing major
The staff were very helpful and friendly and polite. Food was excellent and good value for money.
Staff very friendly , fine for £40 per night. Woken up to the sound of tropical birds in someone's aviary felt like I was in South America and not Ossett
Room 4 in need of modernisation , very cramped ,however wouldn't take long to sort out. Done up you would get a lot more than £40
Small friendly staff and lovely food. Nice easy access to the motorway but can't hear it.
Decent accommodation at a fair price
Very small TV in room
Nothing about this hotel is good
Cold water tap didn't work had to have bottled water brought to the room Shower was broken and covered bathroom with water windows double glazing was broken full of condensation and could not see out of window show was difficult to get into not enough space this was an awful awful hotel I stay in a lot of hotel and this one is dreadful.
Sheets were clean, hotel quiet
No DVD player, tv size of laptop. No hairdryer. Bedside lamp broken. Rubbish on carpet and very dusty. Treated like an inconvenience by staff- all lights off and door locked in morning with no one in sight. Building supplies and ironing board on show and blocking fire exit.
Good staff, excellent breakfast
very small room and en-suite, bed felt like it was made of concrete, missing fittings, very poor overall made worse because it could and should be so much better
It was a warm.and friendly place . Staff where first class. Service was excellent
They need to think about the cottage bedroom window . It looks right over reception and you can hear every word when they answer the phone . Not something you want to hear in an honeymoon suite. When you open tge blind it looks onto reception . Not sure if its double glazed . But needs some kind of soun proofing sorting out it felt like they where stood next to me having the conversation. Could do with some played and cuterly in the kitchen part has a toaster but nothing to put it on .
Never before have we such friendly staff. What a welcome for us and our dog. Couldn't do enough for us. The evening menu and service is superb. The best nights sleep for half the price experienced. Will be back if just to work our way through the Indian menu.
Nothing. Fantastic place
The staff were very friendly and well presented and polite the room was comfortable and clean.
when we arrived in the evening we stood at reception for 5 minutes where people were sat a few feet away eating their evening meals, reception could not find a key and just gave us another room with the housekeeping key. On arrival it seemed they were not expecting us, We did book the same evening but was a bit concerning.
room was cramped, had a struggle to pass the bottom of the bed, not a proper ensuite, just a sliding doot that did not reach the ceiling, you could see and hear everything in the so called ensuite, one duvel was very dirty, wouldnt use ever again
Bed was clean and very comfy. Was booked last minute as I was feeling a bit ill.
Nobody was at reception when I arrived and it took quite a while for me to get the attention of a member of staff to check me in. Was then informed the room I had booked wasn't available but luckily there was still one free. One of the 'clean' towels had orange stains all over it. There was a broken light in the shower cubicle and the shower lead was broken and showed the plastic hose and all the toiletries although very pleasant smelling were all out of date. I had also booked breakfast and asked of that was ok as I was vegetarian and did they have anything available. Was told that wouldn't be a problem. In the morning I asked for eggs mushrooms and beans to be given eggs beans and sausages. When I asked if they were veggie she said no and apologised and said she would take them away. To my surprise rather than take the plate away and bring fresh she got a spare fork and side plate and just picked them off the plate! Was looking forward to staying here as with it being a last minute booking as it's a beautiful hotel but if I stay again I really hope they take more care with the little things.
