The location is the only thing going for this place.
A Victorian Hotel built between 1865 and 1901, the Columba Hotel overlooks the town of Oban and Oban Bay. It has a 24-hour front desk, a traditional restaurant and 2 bars.

The location and the harbor view were phenomenal. They also had a pretty nice bathtub that fills up deeply!
Set in the center of Oban, ideal for Argyll and the Islands, this small Scottish hotel is one of the town's oldest buildings and comes with free WiFi and a cozy lounge.

Walking distance everywhere within the beautiful city of Oban, especially the Oban Ferry Terminal, where we were able to take a breathtaking tour to see Fingals Cave, Isles of Staffa/Iona/Mull!

Beautiful place and location. You're in nature and listening to the birds chirping in the morning is just lovely. Really loved the small cottage home with plenty of space and soft comfy beds. Plus the restaurant staff and the food was brilliant. Definitely recommend going there for food at least!

Taynuilt and the nearby Bonawe Furnace's are steeped in history particularly with the Royal Navy.
The first monument to Admiral Lord Nelson in the UK was erected by the workers of Bonawe Furnaces in 1805 after he was killed at Trafalgar.
Great location to tour Argylle.

A great place to stay to explore the west of Scotland and its Islands. Plenty of local country walks. Good train service between Oban-Taynuilt-Glasgow. (Taynuilt Station about 1km(?) from house). Otherwise, car would probably be needed for more extensive exploration. EV charger for those who need it (reasonable payment).

The place was a disaster.
The place was a disaster. The approach was uneven, No railings at high steps at front door, shared bathroom on a half-landing with high step in. Bathroom lock was a mortice lock. Heater only worked for 30 minutes. Only one bedside cabinet though 2 beds on opposite sides of the room. Only one bedside lamp. No bin for any rubbish. Only 2 plastic hangers in the wardrobe. Need I go on? It was a totally horrible experience. We were asked to pay out the full price before we were shown our room which was up a double flight of stairs. I am quite disabled and found it utterly unhelpful. The owner offered to pay us back when we remonstrated but there was by this time no accommodation elsewhere and he knew we were on a cleft stick. The outside view is nothing like your picture of the frontage. It actually looks like an abandoned house! We left as soon as we possibly could after a most uncomfortable night, and of course with no breakfast!

A beautiful location with such friendly people. If you want to step back in time to a place where the locals are delightful and a place rich with culture then it is well worth a visit. You have to pay a visit to the local shop which has the most delightful owner dating back 5 decades.

A pretty little village in Highland Scotland, with rail links to Glasgow and Oban and stations in between. Close to Ben Cruachan and lots of beautiful scenery. The local pub serves very good food and beers.

Taynuilt is a small friendly village with great transport links to Oban and the isles by train, bus, bike or car. It is in a beautiful spot at the foot of Ben Cruachan and sits on Loch Etive offering sporting opportunities and beautiful views. Well worth a visit on its own or as a base for exploring Argyll further.
The location was beautiful and quiet with the hotel set into the woods, the staff were really nice and friendly. The room we had was well laid out and looked like it had been refurbished not long ago so we were happy, the only down side was the Reception area being a bit cluttered (a bit of dumping ground for overs by the looks of things ) the gentleman who booked us in was really good and looked after us brilliantly. Overall I would not hesitate to go again in a heartbeat.
Very quiet property on the edge of Taynuilt village. There are ground floor properties around the courtyard also occupied but you'd barely know there was anyone else there.
Easy access to Oban and Glen Coe, but you really need a car.
Everything had been catered for in the kitchen. The bed was really comfy and warm.
The automatic nightlight in the wall socket is genius.
I have never seen such a comprehensive information folder which was really useful.
We loved the direct access to the hotel garden via the French windows in the room. The hotel was quiet and we were not disturbed by noise from other guests, although occasionally we were aware they were there. We loved the rural setting and the views from our room and from the dining room. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and anxious to do their best to ensure we were happy. They were all working exceptionally hard.
No breakfast provided but a range of snacks were available for sale. However, the room was clean and the area was quiet. The bed was ok and we got a good night's sleep. Nice to have a hotel a few hundred yards away for drinks (including decent beer) or an evening meal. A good range of shops in the village such as grocer/ butcher to obtain bread etc. Also a post office. Note Wednesday early closing The proprietor was friendly.
Very welcoming hosts and a lovely location from which to explore the west of Scotland. The caravan was comfortable with everything we needed and the great weather was just a bonus! Would recommend a trip to Mull, Oban is lovely and Glencoe a short drive away and well worth a visit. Taynuilt Inn nearby serves excellent food. Thanks for a great holiday.
The quality of cooking is high at dinner and there is an excellent selection of items at breakfast but I didn't have time to try the cooked menu. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. The shower was very good. The best thing was the comfort of the bed, as I slept very well. The staff were helpful and arranged an early alarm call.
I work for a nation company working on project all over Britain.
I booked accommodation at Taynuilt Guest House for my engineers working in the area.
It's important when asking engineers to work away were able to arrange clean worm and friendly accommodation.
The staff were great and made sure my engineers were looked after.
Just had a fantastic four night stay at the Taynuilt Inn. Beautiful setting and both the hotel and the staff were exceptional. Breakfasts were delicious and we had two superb evening meals in the restaurant.
Such a welcoming and friendly hotel and we will definitely be back.
Hosts very helpful for the few things we needed. The location is excellent - about 20 minutes from Oban and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Kitchen was well appointed; beds extremely comfortable. Plenty of space around the chalets. Plenty of parking next to the chalets.
Loved the location - remote enough that we felt like we had the place to ourselves but close enough jaunt over to taynuilt / Oban. Having the farm animals in the vicinity of the property added to the experience too.
Location was fantastic, beautiful views and close to Oban.
Beds were very comfortable and properties were very well equipped.
Hosts were extremely helpful ☺️
