The Martin Arms is part of the Moleface Pub Group, a successful Nottinghamshire based company specialising in hospitality. Operations at the Martin Arms is overseen by Mr Matthew Cullen. We aimed to offer every person visiting our pub a warm and friendly experience and produce only the best of British food , Ale and charm! Our bedrooms reflect these values and we offer all our staying guests a complimentary Ale pack on departure.

An Elizabethan farmhouse that became an ale house around 1700, and an inn 100 years later. Today it is a deeply civilised pub. The front room exudes country-house charm – fresh flowers, scatter cushions on sofas and settles, crackling logs in Jacobean fireplaces – and you can order a splendid ploughman's with Colston Bassett stilton from the dairy up the road (do visit). In the restaurant, menus change daily, while highlights include pan-fried scallops with Stafford black pudding; locally shot game with seasonal vegetables; delicious Sunday roast beef. Behind the bar is an impressive range of well-kept real ales, with 60 wines (including sparkling and champagne). Outside, a large and attractive beer garden overlooks pretty parkland and is great for the summer escape of the city. Recently added, are five tastefully restored and decorated bedrooms, all on suite with a separate entrance for early departure or morning walks. All rooms have WIFI but no TVs.

Our beautifully tended garden has comfortable spacing to allow you to relax, enjoying a welcome reunion with family or friends. On cooler evenings, find a cosy corner of the well-stocked bar and stretch out in front of the roaring log fires. The ancient Jacobean fireplace and hunting scenes on the wall remind the visitor of aspects of English county life which have changed little down the centuries.
