Mostly all great. Room was fabulous - we had a suite. Love the location for convenience to town etc.
Having to call / find a member of bar staff in the evenings was a little frustrating at times, but didn't spoil the holiday and when they arrived, bar staff were great.
Room and location
Noise throughout night. Doors which slammed loudly
Perfect location to explore Banbury during the evening. Lovely walk in the gardens after a delicious breakfast. Provided a night of comfort before camping in a field for three days.
Only discovered there was a lift after breakfast. The exercise did me good though.
Beautiful, and carefree parking close to centre of busy market town with great independent shops in high street, near canal and the Mill arts centre.
The surroundings. And the atmosphere. ..
Noisy wedding party leaving from the car park in the morning, shouting and beeping their car horns... really spoilled our Sunday morning lie in. I wouldn't stay again if a wedding is on..
Friendly staff, historical surroundings and great location/central to the town.
Thin Walls, could hear the people in the next room, woke us up early in the morning. The doors slam quite hard and are noisy when closed.
magnificent garden, great trees!
You can hear every word from the next room
Location of the hotel and the garden.
Very hot room and a noisy extractor fan going all the time on the cinema next door.
Convenient location. Free parking. Free Wifi.
Tired carpets and deco.
Food Excellent Staff pleasant bur overstretched
poor Restaurant service in that we waited an hour for our food and they had run out of ice
The look of the front
The staff not interested the room shabby the price of drinks just daft food not worth contemplating total blas'e attitude wedding guests climbing on the roof total lack of customer service
Noisy wedding party continuing until after 0100 just outside our window, followed by more noise at 0330 and again at 0650 (this time staff talking loudly).
Location was good, in town centre with food, drink and shopping facilities very near by. Reception Staff were polite. Lovely garden.
Starting to look warn and tired in the halls and stairs, Bed was uncomfortable could hear and feel all the pockets, furniture was tatty. No Tea or Coffee facilities in the rooms. Overprice room service available. Cracked sink and tiles in bath room. A little stuffy as windows only open the smallest amount. Unfortunately the Whatley Hall used to be a premium hotel in Banbury, now it's like an old B&B but without the breakfast but still premium price.
Good sized bedroom.
Our toilet did not flush. They did nothing about this. Compensation of £10 felt paltry for such an inconvenience.
Staff very helpful Wine bar very nice, although no staff serving on Friday night. Good breakfast served.
The whole building is need of some tlc. Felt a bit run down in some areas.
Our room was spacious nd we were near to all the places we wanted to visit
We felt that the furnishings were somewhat dated.
Parking spac was small I had my car and it is very narrow road to go there Also very old furniture Corridor was old carpet you here you'r feet wile you are going to you're room Receptionist they didn't give any discount when I told them that my bath was leaking and I spent an hour to have shower Any how I wanna be fair and warning any one do not be cheted when you look to the picture at booking
Niece's wedding reception there. That was awesome. Bed comfy & room very clean but only had a view of brick wall & car park.
Closet not deep enough for clothes on coat hangers. Had to turn on an angle to close door. And had to remove ironing board to fit clothes in. Also not enough hangers & had to assure staff that having arrived from nz with a big suitcase I did need them! No fan & room very warm.
Price seemed reasonable for the type of hotel. Decor was smart and modern. Staff were really helpful and friendly.
We arrived late evening after a long journey only to find there was a function on in the hotel so a disco was blasting out until midnight. If this had been mentioned in advance we would not have booked this hotel. The section of the hotel at the back was an ugly 50s extension, although the inside of the rooms were pleasant. There were no biscuits and nothing in the minibar.
Our room in the old part was amazing and the receptionist was very helpful advising where to eat at night.
There was a wedding taking place and we couldn't get into the bar on one night. On the other night only 2 people were in the bar but the barman seemed more interested in chatting in the back than serving us so we went to bed
Location and style together with value for money
Cost of the breakfast
could not get wifi in room
Central location free parking
Dated room broken toilet seat broken shower head large crack in sink Mold around window in batthroom TV in separate room to bed Bed moved away from headboard too easily Flaking wallpaper
The room was cold and i plugged in the electric heater at low temperature which gave me a very stuffed head. there were no extra blankets or pillows in the wardrobe so I used the two bath towels as covers
