I was born and grew up in the north of Zambia, Africa before moving to the UK in the late 80’s with my husband and children. After many happy years there, it was time to move somewhere a little warmer! This brought me to beautiful Crete and specifically, the charming Tavronitis. My husband and I chose to settle in Tavronitis because it’s beautiful – the sea views, the mountains. The people are so welcoming and friendly and for me, it reminds me a little of Africa. Be it the food, the weather of course, and the close knit community. It just felt instantly right when we arrived in this area.

In Kolymbari you can find a large supermarket, as well as taverns, restaurants, cafes, mini markets etc. Tavronitis is a typical Greek village that offers an idyllic pebble beach, many taverns and restaurants offering traditional Greek cuisine, a mini market with fresh local products.
