Impormasyon ng accommodation

Villa “Faros” is located in Karavados, a beautiful village of Livathos area in the south of the island, about 9 km from Argostoli, the Capital City of Kefalonia, only 15-20 minutes drive from Kefalonia’s International Airport . “Faros” has an unobstructed view to the Mountain Ainos (or Aenos- the highest mountain of the island) up to the open Ionian Sea and the Island of Zakynthos, ideal for both summer and winter holidays. Is a newly build villa, licensed as holiday accommodation by EOT (Greek National Tourism Organization), following the most stringent earthquake standards, built in one level. With a private pool, three bedroom each one with en suite bathroom, a dining area, fully equipped kitchen, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffe maker and everything needed to self cater. Most of the inside furniture have been made by the local craftsman, Panagis, following the traditional style of Karavados which reminds you the old villas of the area. The villa is decorated by creations of the decoupage artist Doxa

Impormasyon ng neighborhood

The closest beach to Karavados is St Thomas and beaches of Lourdata end Avithos are only a 10-15 minute drive away. Karavados has a small mini market and the next to it village, Peratata has tavernas, bakery, fruit store, mini market and pharmacy. In the centre of Karavados is the church of St Constantine and Helena, a characteristic one of the kefalonian architecture and only 10 minutes drive away is St Georges Castle and the Monastery of Saint Andrew. Karavados is considered the Kapetanochori of Kefalonia, as many of its residents deal with the sea, either as fishermen or sailors. An iron anchor in the center of the village is a monument dedicated to “the village of its lost seamen”, as is written in the engraved inscription (terrabook). Faros in greek means lighthouse. The lighthouse stands alone and tall in both light and darkness, is a focal point which symbolizes strength, guidance and safe harbor, it is a spiritual Welcome Mat for all those who are travelling (Joseph Panek 2010), either seamen or visitors from far away.
