Absolutely beautiful setting complemented by kind and attentive staff who really made us feel at home. The island itself has stunning views and lovely beaches (also with shade/ child friendly options). Kalamota staff went the extra mile and we wish we could return!

We went in June at stayed in Gornje Celo was was lovely and peaceful, there was bar nearby and a restaurant, the only problem being that the restaurant was only open at lunchtime (this changes 1st July) which meant we had to walk to Donje Celo where there is a really nice restaurant (Konoba Stari Miri) on the waters edge with great sunsets. The main ferry terminal and island only food shop are also located here it is about 23mins walk from one village to the next. There is a local ferry that goes from Dubrovnik to Gornje Celo but you will need to check with host as the timings are not obvious.
The shop on island has most essentials but is only open certain times, probably best to stock up on mainland.
There are no cars on the island so it is very peaceful. Ferry to Dubrovnik is reasonably priced and easily booked online.
Good base to visit Dubrovnik.

We stayed in the island for 6 days, which was really great since we were with kids and they enjoyed Sandy beaches. Other tif you travel without kids I think it might seem too longue for this island (if you like active holidays !)

Beautiful island with crystal clear and warm waters.
Beautiful island with crystal clear and warm waters. I'd go there if you want to relax - swim, snorkel, a few nice walks. In our view, Gornje Čelo is the nicer (quieter, but with 2 good restaurants and an excellent hotel) side of the island. Donje Čelo (where ferry comes into) is rather dominated by the Tui resort. There is a small shop there, though, which could be useful.

To us,Kolocep was paradise. The island is so tranquil and relaxing. The most exciting thing here is the arrival of the ferry, many times daily;that is Kolocep's appeal. There are no cars here. The two villages,Donje Celo and Gornje Celo, are beautiful. There are super restaurants in both villages. The sea is so calm, clear and clean:so many quiet pebble beaches where you can swim, often with no one else around. Many tracks on the island will take you through olive-groves,orchards and forests to the sea.The people of Kolocep are warm and welcoming.I celebrated my 72nd Birthday on Kolocep, but I felt more like 22 when I was here for my 2 weeks holiday!

Virgin natural park with nice people, amazing place.
Virgin natural park with nice people, amazing place. No cars, only one small shop and 2 restaurants that make an experience of the island even more interesting. It s better to buy everything for the fridge in Dubrovnik.
