Great comfy bed and shower, had a wonderful nights sleep. The room was very large and spacious and had all basic needs. Loved that didn't need to check out until 12o'clock the next day. I was a little disappointed with the very small selection of drinking facilities. It only allowed for 1 drink each if 2 people are in the room. There was no hot chocolate or herbal choice. Breakfast should have been included for the price paid as it is the little extras that make a memorable experience. |

Classic building, helpful staff and nice refined decor with good facilities. Easy to reach as the aircoach stopped at Merrion Square. Very close to Trinity College, Grafton Street and a comfortable 15 min walk to the Temple Bar district for evening entertainment. |

The room was comfortable and spotless with lots of hot water and the breakfast very good indeed. The location was ideal for my stay, being very close to Trinity College and Grafton Street as well as the dart to Howth. Very annoyed at being woken up at 7.45 A.m by the chambermaid when on holiday and in real need fora rest. I felt this was insensitive on the hotels part as they were not really interested in the reason for a guest stay. We are not all business travellers or American early risers. THe room service menu was limited. The hotel rate was too expensive for the offer. |

Very pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast seemed a little chaotic at times. Maybe a few more tables and a few more staff would help? |

We were thrilled with the location and quality/cleanliness of this hotel especially for the price and being in the city. If we come back to Ireland, we will stay there again. It was one blolck from the hop on hop off bus and walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Perfect location for someone visiting Dublin! |

Location in the city centre Old modest room, no minibar, no safe, no trouserpress ... Furthermore the breakfast quality is minimal. Besides I doubt if the rate I paid for 3 nights stay through Booking.com is really low. |

We are a couple in our forties and love Dublin for short breaks (four or five a year) and we will certainly be returning to the Davenport. On arrival we were met and checked in by a very friendly and efficient gentleman (I think that his name was Mallachy, he was from Dublin). He showed us to our room which was large and spacious, multi channel tv with movie channels ect.available. Bathroom small but adequate, shower and bath combined but the shower one of the best that we have come across really powerfull. Bed large and comfortable. As we like to get out and about we did not eat in the hotel (which we felt a little guilty about) so we cannot comment on the food. Nothing that we did not like but just to point out that parking is about three or four hundred yards away, it is in a secure enclosed area with coded entry, well worth the very nominal sum of five euros a day. No problem unloading luggage before parking. Pub across from bedroom wasn't that noisy at night but just be aware of it. Students were off when we visited in September. |

Solid choice, close to Trinity College Dublin and Merrion Square. Beautiful building exterior, comfortable room, flat-screen tv, good- sized bathroom (for Ireland). The window had very good soundproofing, so the Ginger Man pub noise from across the street disappeared with the window closed. Cafe Sol coffee shop just across another street. Full day wireless Internet access is a gouge (16 euro), but they offer shorter blocks of time (3 euro for 2 hours, competitive with local Internet cafes). Hvac controls in the room did nothing. However, ventilation wasn't really needed because outdoor temp (September) was perfect. I left the window open most of the time I was in the room. |

Very comfortable and large room kept immaculate by the chamber maids. Lots of polished wood and comfortable queen size bed plus an extra big single bed in our particular room. The bathroom was splendid! Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee provided and good sized LCD TV with free and pay- for programmes to choose from. The breakfast price had been reduced from the advertised 15-16 euros down to 11.95 euro and was a full buffet or continental and plenty to choose from too representing fair value alongside Dublin's quite expensive cafes and restaurants. The comfortable lounge bar also is a good place to eat.We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating and professional as they should be in a busy hotel. \we enjoyed our week v.much. Something to watch out for is the internal bedrooms that have no outside windows as such. My fault perhaps as I requested a 'smoking' room and I don't know if this room is allocated as such. The only window opened onto a large ventilation shaft affording very little natural light and emitting a constant hum only deadened by the secondary glazing when closed. The air-con worked OK though and as we were out most of the day we were not too concerned by the gloom. However it may be worth mentioning that you want an outside room if you think that life as a troll would not appeal. A couple of soft pillows would also be a good idea as the ones provided were a tad firm. Apart from that,---thoroughly recommended! |
