A nice friendly hotel based in the middle of Westport town... Just one annoying (very) thing, noisy children in the hotel's bar after 9pm!!! Especially a 5 year old child with a noisy remote control car playing non-stop on the bar floor while his father sat @ the bar drinking pints.... What are the legal requirements re. young children in bars after 8pm?? We left our hotel bar & went to a nearby bar which was quiet enough to be able talk in...

We jog every morning and the Hotel is ideally located beside the Old Railway Track that takes you to Westport House We were so comfortable that we couldn't get out of bed in the mornings! Parking could be a problem during the busy season.

Clew Bay Hotel is a fantastic Hotel to stay at, it is smack bang in the Center of Town within walking distance of all the shops, we had the full use of the Poll and Gym next door, and we also had the advantage of seeing the Cannonball Run that passed through on the Sat evening dispite the rain. We were dissapointed that we could not stay longer, but hopefully next time. The Hotel was our base, and that was how we used it, As we were out all day, it was nice to come back in the evening for a relaxing drink in the friendly bar.

The facilities were excellent. Very convinient for accessing Westport. Sorry to say we too felt the Breakfast should be in the price. As for the parking we appreciate you have no parking of your own due to location. The reduced price to park in the council car park is good value but since it is the car park for the local cinema and sports centre we felt that reserving at least some space for hotel guests might be a good idea. When using your Hotel as a base to tour from losing a parking space was always a concern and happened one evening. Parking across in the other car park out of site of the Hotel was not an option I was happy with. I parked on the main road outside the pharmacy and was duly boxed in by delivery trucks the next day.

the double/single room was small and dimly lit the view was the corridor opposite used constantly by guests exiting the lift . no information leaflet in the room . and breakfast ..... a nominal charge for the car park was petty .a lack of information in relation to the use of the pool did not help

From the moment myself and a group of friends arrived at the hotel, all of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. After climbing croagh patick we enjoyed some friendly banter in the bar with staff and some locals. The food and service were excellent. Staff were very helpful and accomodating with any requests we had as a group of 6. We all really enjoyed our stay at Clew Bay Hotel, and not only will we be recommending the hotel to our friends but we will definitely be returning ourselves for another a great stay.

The receptionist was very friendly. Rooms are spacious and bathroom has a bath. Did not like the door opening system, use of key which we found awkward as it wouldnt open the door, for something so simple getting the door open is the hardest thing you'l have to do at this hotel... especially after a few drinks. We stayed at the hotel on a saturday night and it felt like we were the only guests there, the hotel is very quiet and lacks atmosphere. The bed clothes also need to be modernised.
