Set in the Chianti hills, Santa Maria a Poneta is 5 minutes' drive from the medieval village of Barberino di Val d’Elsa. This historic property is a working farm that produces olive oil and wine. Santa Maria a Poneta is an elegant manor house that features a chapel from the 9th century. Its grounds include a swimming pool, open from May until September, sun loungers, parasols and a BBQ. Apartments are set on 2 floors and feature a 20 m² terrace with views of the garden. Each one includes free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and a kitchenette with kettle and toaster. The manor house has been lovingly restored and original features such as terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings have been beautifully preserved. We love our house so much, it is a very long piece of History which we like to preserve for the future generation. We like take care of all the common area for the pleasure of our hosts which arrive from all over the world. A nice experience for us to share this wonderful location, date back to the middle age. The house was built around the Romanesque chuch to host the pilgrims which travel to Rome. Now we are delightfull to continue this tradition hosting nice people who like discover Tuscany and its unique atmosphere, culture and History.

Why not a good glass of wine, in front of the swimmingpool with a stunning panorama of the Chianti valley!!! I appreciate the easy things ! Me and my wife Susanna like to spend an easy country stile-life. We like to spend our time taking care of our agricultural estates where we produce a very good wines and a super extravergin-olive oil. We like horse, and we breed a lot of in the farm. We train them to partecipate to competitions in show jumping and in three day event. So daily you can see the working of the horses not far from the house. In spring you will be able to see the newborns running in the large grass-paddoks.

There are a lot of intresting things to do to spend a nice holiday in the area. If you like to discover our culture, our food, we will be able to segest you several opportunityes to try unique experiences. Cooking lessons, bird watching, fishing, horsebackriding, wine tasting, olive oil tasting, ballons, thermal bath, relaxing massages, theatre, concerts in old villas. For the female shopping too several intresting nice small shops to try!!
