Yoo was an amazing host! He helped me so much to feel at home. He sat down with me to look at a map - I visited many places he recommended and was very happy. He also shared with me many places to eat with delicious local food! I was very worried about my next guesthouse because I was concerned about reaching the owners as a foreigner. Yoo called them for me, translated, and put me in touch with them. The hostel feels like you are in a home! Gamsahamnida!

The hostel is well located in Sokcho, you can reach the market and harbour just by walking a few minutes. For further destinations theres a bus stop for the regular busses just around the corner and even the bus terminal for intercity busses is just a short walk away. During my stay the hostel was very quiet, which was perfect as I came here for relaxation and hiking. I had a single room with my own bathroom, which seemed extremely luxurious after staying in dorms for a while. The room was big and tidy, same goes for the bathroom.

The place is wonderfully designed with a TinTin theme, Yoo was an exceptional host and explained to us in detail about all the interesting things to do in the area. The room was clean, warm, and cozy with floor heating. Lovely stay overall, we even stayed a night more than planned.

The owner was super sweet, took the time to show me on a map the best tourist attractions in Sokcho and how to get around using the public bus systems. The location is fantastic, 3 min from the intercity bus terminal and 2 min from the public bus station that will take you the national park. The hostel facilities are great, there is free laundry. I had a room with a private bathroom, everything was very clean. I highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at The House Hostel. It was conveniently located and the owner was so helpful. He sits you down when you get there to give you the rundown of the area and the national park nearby. The hostel itself was clean, cozy, and just what we needed for a weekend getaway. A simple breakfast is provided in the morning, which was lovely. The bus we took from Seoul dropped us off right by the hostel (about a two-minute walk) and there are many restaurants and things to do in the area.
