Commercial, Cultural and Modern with an Industrial Core
Katowice is located in the Silesian Highlands and is one of Europe’s largest industrial centres with a commercial, cultural and modern expansion from its old roots.
The spirit of the city is reflected in places such as Cathedral of Christ the King, the multipurpose and flying saucer shaped Spodek arena, the modern Silesia City Centre shopping mall, the cultural Silesian Museum, and the Historical Museum of Katowice.
Silesian Culture and Recreation Park is an extensive park located between Katowice and neighbouring Chorzow, a great place to keep in mind for a day excursion. Chorzow is home to a zoo, a amusement park, a nature reserve and the Silesian Planetarium.
The city offers several dining and entertainment options, from local 'no-frills' eateries and snack bars, to chic restaurants and bars around the cosmopolitan and upmarket streets of Staromiejska and Wawelska.
Check out Booking.com for great accommodation deals in the city centre and near Pyrzowice Airport and Katowice Central Station.
Katowice is a big city but the tram system is excellent.
Katowice is a big city but the tram system is excellent. We used the trams every day and as we are over 70, it was free! The Silesian museum was really interesting , detailing the history of the area and was well worth visiting. We ate out every day and found the meals to be good value and generally high quality. The Silesian Park is just wonderful, the autumn colours were stunning. Lots of restaurants in the Park too. Also worth visiting is the outdoor Silesian Ethnographic museum, set in very attractive grounds.

Great city. Good shops.
Great city. Good shops. As in all of Poland feel totally safe walking around town during the day or at night.
Lots of great shopping malls.
Lovely food.
Great that there are few tourists to spoil it. Ha,ha. Went to Krakow after this and it was full of loud brash, Irish, English, Americans.

It is difficult to approach.
It is difficult to approach. As a foreigner who is not familiar with the city, it is not easy. The gate is very strait, 2 meters wide. A large car cannot fit and there is no alternative because it is difficult to park on the street. The view of the city sounds nice but it is very noisy because of the tram that runs all night and the window is not well insulated.
The room is very nice and clean. One night if you are passing through, it is convenient.

Found it expensive however lovely place.
Found it expensive however lovely place. Do walk around the whole city to see the back end streets etc. Krakow around 1 hour by train price ranges from 19.95 to 27 polish zloty one way average 22.95 PLZ. 2 to 5 years will be transformed and this will be good. AP on yellow bus to from airport Terminal ABC combined. 6.60 Plz each way. Bus stop 10 in Katowice station which interacts with Katowice Gallerie (shopping Centre). Restaurants slightly different set up to that of other Euro countries. Europe place to be. Certain elements of society who are influenced by drink and drugs as per any country tend to hang about train station but Police on them often. Always looking for a scrounge but tends to walk away if firm but fair. Criminals will operate but overall safe city.

It's an underated city. It has a lot to offer for a weekend: the old town is not the best one but it has some interesting coffee hipster places. The cultural neighbourhood has impressive architecture, worthy to see. Check Nikiszowiec is beautiful.

An excellent city that has all the amenities of a real, small industrial city with an appropriate amount of heritage and cultural treasures. It is located at a traffic hub and is well connected to cities such as Krakow, Wroclaw. It is excellent for spending at least two quality days in it.
When we arrived at the hotel we found that they are closed due to maintenance. They didn't advised but at the main door they wrote a letter that all reservations were moved to Novotel Katowice Centrum (4 star hotel) right across the street (10 metres away). I am super happy with their option they offered us and also they kept our breakfast reservation, although breakfast at the 4 star hotel was more expensive. In my opinion this hotel should have a 10/10 rating in how they treat their customers.
The hotel is in the center of Katowice, very close to the train station and lots of restaurants. There is a pharmacy across the street. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, they moved us from a room on the ground floor to another room due to noise from the street. The hotel is very clean and the cleaning staff is very friendly. There is a shared kitchen where you can make breakfast. The bigger rooms have desks with a lamp and comfortable chairs so you can work remotely if needed.
The hotel is really nice, located in the heart of the city with easy access to restaurants and transport.
Parking based on availability, but we managed to find a spot but we have had to pay for it, it is not included in the accommodation.
Breakfast is really good with enough options.
All was awesome, best hotel so far, good and multiple options in breakfast, available parking based on occupancy, well placed in city center, a but musky, probably carpets cleaning would do
When your plan is to attend some concert in the nearby NOSPR - building (modern concert hall of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio) or something else near the city centre of Katowice ...
then you are in the right place....
Comfortable design oriented hotel, motivated young staff, parking places available, not overpriced ... the recipe for a few relaxed days in southern Poland 🇵🇱 ... there's even a bar inside ...
Excellent hotel, with great sport facilities, very good gym and a great pool and jacuzzi.
Rooms are big and clean, and the room with small kitchen very convenient.
In the hotel there is a great Spa/Beauty saloon with very nice and professional therapists..
Around the hotel several big groceries and stores near by. Parking was also good.
I am sure to get back to this hotel in the future!
This place cost me £12 a night. This is good value. The room was very nice, nothing was wrong with it. It is the typical sort of cheap hotel room in Poland which is very clean and no issues to be had. In Poland there is no need to get an expensive hotel, the cheap places are all you need. I have never had a bad room in Poland, and I always stay in the cheapest of places.
Excellent location... We caught the bus from airport, and it stops under the train station, the hotel is right opposite, with a huge shopping mall right next to it.... Lots of shops and cafes right outside. Hotel restaurant was amazing, had our first meal in there! Wonderful decor, clean and very helpful hotel staff, will return 😁
Staying overnight in Katowice in my way to northern Poland. Nice hotel, reception staff very helpful to recommend attractions or restaurants nearby. Easy walking distance from the main railway station
Clean and tidy, me modern equipped rooms
perfect place you go out from hotel to the main street of cafes and bars. really good design of cosy hotel, nice restaurant, good breakfast and friendly staff, I had one night there but this was best stay in all this trip to Poland.
The hotel is basically a sports hotel with all the usual facilities, regarding location mostly used for the location to Katowice airport, as a business / holiday hotel forget it.
I really like the place its very near to the centrum and it's a budget friendly hostel the facilities is clean even though the room is quite small but it's very comfortable.
Very good location, staff was friendly and assisted me in English. Hotel is very clean and modern, rooms are well decorated. Very delicious food and quick service.
basic hotel, not expensive with good staff and service, air conditioned, good opportunity to spend the night after and before the flight from Katovich air port.
