Its a nice house, a lot of space, comfortable beds, there was more than enough blankets and a thick duvet so we were really warm at night. The kitchen was really good with everything you need. The owner is really nice, he has a cafe next to the house.

Beautiful house, just stunning to walk through. The kitchen was great and it was nice to cook my own food on this bike trip. They were also great about storing my bike. Really comfy beds, although I wish they had a fan.

The remote location was amazing, with the views to die for. Should the weather be better we would have used the outside space, including the barbeque area, more. The house is very old and traditional, ideal if you look for authentic Portuguese aldeia (village) experience, maybe less ideal if you value modern comforts and bright spaces. The host is very attentive and came all the way from Coimbra to fix an electricity problem we had. I loved the cave-style bathroom and the lack of internet or mobile phone connection (good for the kids and adults to disconnect). The walk up the cottage is not difficult at all, unless of course you have some mobility issues. We loved having a secret house pet - a tiny lizzard which keeps the house insect free.

The house was spotless and had everything we could ask for. It even had some great details that made us feel like home, like makeup remover, coffee capsules and tea.
The beds were very comfortable, the sofa wide, the kitchen fully equipped and AC was available in every room.
Our hosts were also amazing. I left something behind and they very kindly let me go back in the afternoon and helped me look for the item (which they found!).
I will definitely recommend this place and hopefully come back!

In short, for the ones that don't like to read long reviews, it was amazing. A great place to actually shut down from the world and find peace with oneself. In case you have pets I certain they will love the freedom and you'll feel safe for them once there is no real roads nor cars around.
The long review. I was very pleased upon my arrival with all that was offered. An old fashion traditional rock and wooden house. The decoration inside can really inspire you. You can actually pretend that it is your house and that you are living in the year 1920 or something like that.
My idea to go there was actually to shut down, press the reset button on my mind and eventually turn of the phone connection for a few days. That idea was about to become way easier than I expected. There is no wi-fi in the house. At first, I was surprised (it was mentioned on the description I just did not noticed), I felt a weird sensation even though it was my idea to shutdown, I was probably just not ready to actually do it.
However, I had to shutdown, I could not waste my monthly data so I turned it all off.
After the second day with no phone I managed to finally accept and enjoy. I was completely absorved and inspired with what the world was before the technologies, the opportunities that it actually opened up. I mean I was alone so in my case was being focused on myself, cooking, reading, warm up by collecting and setting up the fire. Contemplating the fire, what a peace.
During the day there is so many walks and hikes one can do along the river or towards the small villages.
Also the river looks quite nice for kayaking.
Now obviously, in case you going with someone, or the family you can enjoy much more the company with each other, by either talks, meals, walks and open air activities and at night playing games or board games that you can bring or simply enjoy a nice game of chest or cards that are available in the house.
