Delfim Douro Hotel was in one word Fantastic, even with a minor incident, what the staff directly and very professional corrected. The moment you walk in, the staff is there. With all the friendly help and the pre-checking was quickly. Everything was in my eyes perfect. We loved also that the hotel helped employees with a handicap, to see the Hotel is not afraid to have employee in a in the wheelchair, who solved our little problem with all the professionalism you can get. The restaurant was great, good food for a decent price, good variety wine and loved the desert, Florest chocolate, you have to try it. :-)

I just had the best time at this amazing hotel! The staff's hospitality was top-notch. They welcomed us with a drink and showed us around the hotel. It was my husband's birthday, so the hotel made it super special by giving us a nicer room! Also, the staff set up fun things for us to do, like a boat trip and wine tasting at a nearby winery, which I highly recommend! The hotel has an outdoor heated pool and an indoor pool with saunas. Perfect for chilling out. And the breakfast was seriously the best ever – so many tasty choices! To sum it up, this hotel rocks! The staff is awesome, the food is great, and the place itself is just so cool.

This is a stunning house which has been really tastefully converted into a fantastic hotel. It’s comfortable, interesting, inviting and relaxing, all at once. The experience is very like staying in your own (very grand) country house, with beautiful grounds and a wealth of history to explore, complete with attentive staff (especially the wonderful Diogo, who looked after us fantastically), and a brilliant chef. The food was excellent and the wines (produced on the estate) were delicious. We recommend!

What can I say about this hotel? I absolutely loved everything about it! The facilities are modern and comfortable, the location is convenient, being close to both the highway and the city, and the cleanliness is impeccable. Additionally, the staff is incredibly helpful and provides excellent recommendations for places in the city. The breakfast is top-notch, with individually prepared items. The property is remote completely integrated in the landscape, with a breathtaking view over the river. The fact that there are only 10 rooms and that everything was made to respect the surroundings is amazing. The feeling is one of a luxury cabin. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is on the (very) small size, as is the shower. The food is good quality, set dinner as well as snacks. The service is very faultless.

A very gorgeous and interesting place to stay. Beautifully decorated, stunning interiors with clever and generous lounge areas to chill out. Wonderful spa and pool facilities. This was amazing!! Our best stay in Portugal. Loved it. Make sure you do a tour, taste the port and have the dinner option. Breakfast was yummy too. Walking around the vines was great. We ended up taking with all the other guests having a glass of wine. So great!

Not too much to do in the fall. Quiet city.

Not too much to do in the fall. Quiet city. Pretty city from far views in the mountain, very few places where you can try cheese selections with good wine. The wool factories are a key attraction like Burel. Finding great servings of the Serra da Estrela cheese should be easier.

Seia is a nice little city with plenty of cultural sites, restaurants, and shops. In general people are very nice and welcome visitors. Nature surrounding the city are beautiful and there are many short and long hiking trails around.

If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there...

If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there inmediately. Lovely streets to wander around, parks and local shops and restaurants. Lovely architecture to admire and just love the ambience. The N2 national road passes through here and it's close to a great metal festival.

Guarda is a beautiful city.

Guarda is a beautiful city. In 1 day I walked to all the major sites and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Another day would have been ideal. Part of Guarda is exposed to the wind so if you go November December time be prepared with warm clothing.

The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.

It is a nice little spa place in the mountains, has a good hot water based therapeutic facility which offers all kind of things like massage etc and some interesting places to visit in the near vicinity

Beautiful Village with warm welcoming people.

Beautiful Village with warm welcoming people. There you have the Comfort of a small vilage but at the same time you can find a lot of options as for restaurants and grocery. Recommended for couples and families who wish to have a break from Big cities.

Perfect Breakfast with fresh bread in a cloth bag on the door and fresh milk in a glass bottle in the fridge. Fresh figs and a bottle of good wine for the evening. Really good beds with high quality bedding. Very beautiful wooden floor and windows in a very beautiful blue. Very quiet residential area. Very nice an functional bathroom. Very attractive furniture. Free parking. The best apartment in three-week trip!!!

We left a day early because the town is quite remote and we were keen to move on. We are on a month long tour of Portugal though so a day didn’t make much difference to us. There isn’t much to do in Manteigas itself. Having said that, the guide in the local tourist office is exceptionally helpful and very knowledgeable about the region. There are some beautiful views as you drive in and out of the town.

The only issue was I thought we were getting one space and we got another. Otherwise, the place was beautiful and clean. The hosts were beyond gracious...welcoming, wonderful. We will definitely go back. It was an extraordinary and wonderful trip.
