Delfim Douro Hotel was in one word Fantastic, even with a minor incident, what the staff directly and very professional corrected. The moment you walk in, the staff is there. With all the friendly help and the pre-checking was quickly. Everything was in my eyes perfect. We loved also that the hotel helped employees with a handicap, to see the Hotel is not afraid to have employee in a in the wheelchair, who solved our little problem with all the professionalism you can get. The restaurant was great, good food for a decent price, good variety wine and loved the desert, Florest chocolate, you have to try it. :-)

We had a fantastic experience at the hotel, especially enjoying the thermal pool – it was amazing! What stood out to us was the exceptional service, both by the pool and at the bar. The staff was attentive and friendly, making our stay even more enjoyable. We also had a toast for dinner one evening, and it was delicious! The price was very reasonable for such great quality. Overall, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for relaxation and great service.

Excellent service since I arrived at the hotel. They upgraded me to a larger and very comfortable room. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the meal was excellent. The breakfast is also very good. The spa area is very pleasant, as is the gym, which has good weight training machines. The only thing missing in the gym is a mirror in the workout area. I will definitely return.

The warm welcome, breathtaking views, and serene atmosphere made it truly unforgettable. The attention to small details was evident throughout, and the dinner on the terrace was a highlight - we highly recommend order a dinner during your booking. Since there are only 4 rooms you can expect only a few people around, not overcrowded pool area and have a sunset stroll thru the wineyard. A small snacks and drinks are available free of charge and also fridge full of drinks for extra (very convenient) cost. And they have a superfriendly dogs! A perfect blend of tranquility and luxury.

What is there not to like about this hotel? Everything was exceptional, from the moment you check in to the moment you check out you are made to feel special and very welcome. The reception staff are extremely professional and encouraged us to relax and enjoy the hotel from the minute we walked in. The bar staff were fantastic, the waiting staff at the restaurant were professional polite and helpful. The room was what one would expect of a 5 star hotel, the spa was very good and the outdoor pool was great. The hotel exudes luxury and elegance whilst being very relaxed.

The hotel is located in a fabulous location - by the river with a view of the mountains. The hotel rooms were classic, the same as in most other places, but the greatest value of the rooms is that they have their own balconies where you can enjoy wine and the sounds of nature and the river in the evening. Very delicious food in the restaurant, large portions. We were also pleasantly surprised by the breakfast options. I would definitely like to come back here someday.

Exceptional service from arrival to departure. We had 3 fantastic days at the hotel, all the staff are really professional and the facilities are amazing - huge grounds to explore plus a great pool, spa and good gym with machines and some free weights. Food is generous in portions and wines range from straightforward to seriously classy (but still good value). It was everything we’d expect from a luxury hotel and more. Definitely coming back some day soon.

Two days in a perfect place: the hotel, its magnificent location , hiking on the beautiful hills of Douro river valley, vineyard and excellent wines, autumn colours and sunshine - it could not have been better. Service was great by the friendly staff, you could feel that they are there just for you. Excellent breakfast and dinner, too. Thank you so much, you made best of our holiday !

Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool. The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.

If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there...

If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there inmediately. Lovely streets to wander around, parks and local shops and restaurants. Lovely architecture to admire and just love the ambience. The N2 national road passes through here and it's close to a great metal festival.

Seia is a nice little city with plenty of cultural sites, restaurants, and shops. In general people are very nice and welcome visitors. Nature surrounding the city are beautiful and there are many short and long hiking trails around.

Manteigas is a lovely quiet and friendly town.

Manteigas is a lovely quiet and friendly town. There are numerous places to stay and restaurants which serve lunch and evening meals. Two supermarkets allow ease for those self catering. The wool mills are interesting but for those interested in walking there are a wealth of reasonably well marked walks. Unfortunately, the tourist information centre couldn’t help with maps but the Hotel Villa where we stayed were very helpful and had a of printed routes available. Everyone in the town are friendly and you really get the impression that they want visitors to enjoy their holiday.

Guarda is a beautiful city. In 1 day I walked to all the major sites and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Another day would have been ideal. Part of Guarda is exposed to the wind so if you go November December time be prepared with warm clothing.

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful.

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.

It is a nice little spa place in the mountains, has a good hot water based therapeutic facility which offers all kind of things like massage etc and some interesting places to visit in the near vicinity

The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. I don't think there was much to do in that small town, but we had an okay experience at the restaurant.

This is a wonderful town from which to explore the area.

This is a wonderful town from which to explore the area. We visited in early March, just before the Almond Blossom festival. Unfortunately we had to leave right before the festival started, but we saw the preparations and it looks like a fun event. The Coa Archeology Museum and tours to the rock art sites are a must-see. Especially the night tour. It’s worth it!! This area is also a great base for exploring the local castles and wine growing areas. Gorgeous scenery, friendly people and no crowds!!

Beautiful Village with warm welcoming people. There you have the Comfort of a small vilage but at the same time you can find a lot of options as for restaurants and grocery. Recommended for couples and families who wish to have a break from Big cities.
