For me, 10 is too low score for this property. This is one of those places where you want to come back. You don’t feel like guest, but returning friend. It’s old building with modern facilities, everything what you can expect from hotel. What makes difference is dinner, go for it. It’s cooked with passion and accompanied by local wine(s). You meet everyone who is there - place isn’t big, just 8 rooms. You mingle, get to know new people and enjoy atmosphere. And food is delicious, and not same every day according to those who spent few nights there.

Friendly welcome, helpful hosts. The breakfast and dinner were nice and the pool and view were great. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. It is good there is a dinner option as otherwise you need to drive somewhere for food. We had a great time.

Staff All the staff were really friendly and helpful.The young guy who looked after us in the dining room was particularly lovely. Check in, check out. Easy to do. Room The rooms are quite large and spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and excellent ensuite bathrooms. Food Evening meals had a good selection and were really well cooked. Breakfast has a massive selection of fresh fruit, cereals, meat, cheese, and more. Cleanliness Everywhere was immaculately kept. Car parking. There are plenty of parking spaces at the hotel.

Stay more than one night and explore: it pays dividends.

Stay more than one night and explore: it pays dividends. Have a look at Favaios and try the Cooperative's Moscatels, walking in the hills, go and see the palaeolithic art (about an hour away). One or two nights is not enough, especially if you include port tasting too! And there is always the poolside to relax when you dont want to do anything!

The area is just beautiful, stunning.

The area is just beautiful, stunning. There is a sense of awe that overcomes you and the natural surroundings... probably because how narrow the roads are and how high up are. It is worth the drive and the wine and olive oil in the area are exquisite.

One of the most beautiful places in the World.

One of the most beautiful places in the World. Don’t miss this area. Stay out of the large city. A vineyard hotel up high would be the perfect place. You’ll be able to drive through wonderful small villages in your way. Once in your hotel you’ll probably have access to a great personal or very small tour of the vineyard production facilities. We were invited to walk in the vineyard all we wanted. Views are absolutely amazing. We also stayed at the Barrel hotel which was touristy and filled with buses. Get up and away from the tourist crowd. We drive there Valley by car. It was easy and gorgeous.

Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food.

Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food. It is worth doing a wine tasting with visit to know the details about wine making and the varities of grapes. The landscape is exquisite and you feel an inner peace looking down the Douro river and the vineyards. The people are warm and happy, always ready to help. It is better to go by car to enjoy the full potential of the region. Be prepared to drive on hills with many curves and narrow roads. They also produce olive oil and it is delicious!!!

This is a family run boutique hotel and as a guest you are treated like family. The rooms are in the historic family villa so appropriately charming and comfortable at the same time. There is a great pool and outdoor common area with seating and chaise loungers. If you choose to eat there you won't be disappointed. You are served delicious 3 course meals with several choices of local wines. It is a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat.

You’re being welcomed like you’re a close friend which we loved🤩. The room is a bit old but very clean and everything worked properly. We had dinner at the hotel and really loved the food.and for a very good price as well. Everybody sat at the same table so you get to know the other guests. Would definitely return to this place👍.

A very modern, clean and beautiful hotel, run by a family that are passionate about making sure their guests have a good time. Excellent facilities, the pool was particularly welcome in the 39 deg C heat, as was the air conditioned rooms. The views down and across the valley are spectacular.

Wonderful family run hotel in the heart of the Duoro Valley - perfect for hiking and visiting vineyards. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely and a really nice breakfast as well
