Friendly welcome, helpful hosts. The breakfast and dinner were nice and the pool and view were great. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. It is good there is a dinner option as otherwise you need to drive somewhere for food. We had a great time.

Two days in a perfect place: the hotel, its magnificent location , hiking on the beautiful hills of Douro river valley, vineyard and excellent wines, autumn colours and sunshine - it could not have been better. A breathtakingly beautiful property , with attention to minute detail with a caring and friendly team that delivered an outstanding experience . The cuisine and service at the award winning Teracu restaurant on the property was simply amazing showcasing the best ingredients in a hearty but yet beautifully presented plates. Jorge, Francisca , Rafael, Maura and Alexandra were spontaneously warm and hospitable and made the Douro valley stay one of the most memorable highlights of our two and a half week trip to Portugal. Each of them were experts in their respective fields and went out of their way to make it a very special and delightful experience for us.We will surely visit this property again and recommend it to all our friends and family.. Thank you guys for making it so!

Stay more than one night and explore: it pays dividends. Have a look at Favaios and try the Cooperative's Moscatels, walking in the hills, go and see the palaeolithic art (about an hour away). One or two nights is not enough, especially if you include port tasting too! And there is always the poolside to relax when you dont want to do anything!

The area is just beautiful, stunning.

The area is just beautiful, stunning. There is a sense of awe that overcomes you and the natural surroundings... probably because how narrow the roads are and how high up are. It is worth the drive and the wine and olive oil in the area are exquisite.

One of the most beautiful places in the World.

One of the most beautiful places in the World. Don’t miss this area. Stay out of the large city. A vineyard hotel up high would be the perfect place. You’ll be able to drive through wonderful small villages in your way. Once in your hotel you’ll probably have access to a great personal or very small tour of the vineyard production facilities. We were invited to walk in the vineyard all we wanted. Views are absolutely amazing. We also stayed at the Barrel hotel which was touristy and filled with buses. Get up and away from the tourist crowd. We drive there Valley by car. It was easy and gorgeous.

Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food. It is worth doing a wine tasting with visit to know the details about wine making and the varities of grapes. The landscape is exquisite and you feel an inner peace looking down the Douro river and the vineyards. The people are warm and happy, always ready to help. It is better to go by car to enjoy the full potential of the region. Be prepared to drive on hills with many curves and narrow roads. They also produce olive oil and it is delicious!!!

This is a very special place. The Quinta has been very well refurbished with lovely interior designs by Pierre Yovanovitch. It has the most beautiful views overlooking the vineyards and the Douro River. We had a room in the main building of the hotel which was very comfortable. Enjoyed our time by the infinity pool where you can sit under the trees looking out at the view. Very friendly staff. Liked the way self-service coffee, drinks and snacks were available. Breakfast was very good. Great wines.

Wonderful family run hotel in the heart of the Duoro Valley - perfect for hiking and visiting vineyards. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely and a really nice breakfast as well
