For me, 10 is too low score for this property. This is one of those places where you want to come back. You don’t feel like guest, but returning friend. It’s old building with modern facilities, everything what you can expect from hotel. What makes difference is dinner, go for it. It’s cooked with passion and accompanied by local wine(s). You meet everyone who is there - place isn’t big, just 8 rooms. You mingle, get to know new people and enjoy atmosphere. And food is delicious, and not same every day according to those who spent few nights there.

Friendly welcome, helpful hosts. The breakfast and dinner were nice and the pool and view were great. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. It is good there is a dinner option as otherwise you need to drive somewhere for food. We had a great time.

Staff All the staff were really friendly and helpful.The young guy who looked after us in the dining room was particularly lovely. Check in, check out. Easy to do. Room The rooms are quite large and spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and excellent ensuite bathrooms. Food Evening meals had a good selection and were really well cooked. Breakfast has a massive selection of fresh fruit, cereals, meat, cheese, and more. Cleanliness Everywhere was immaculately kept. Car parking. There are plenty of parking spaces at the hotel.

Stay more than one night and explore: it pays dividends.

Stay more than one night and explore: it pays dividends. Have a look at Favaios and try the Cooperative's Moscatels, walking in the hills, go and see the palaeolithic art (about an hour away). One or two nights is not enough, especially if you include port tasting too! And there is always the poolside to relax when you dont want to do anything!

The area is just beautiful, stunning.

The area is just beautiful, stunning. There is a sense of awe that overcomes you and the natural surroundings... probably because how narrow the roads are and how high up are. It is worth the drive and the wine and olive oil in the area are exquisite.

One of the most beautiful places in the World.

One of the most beautiful places in the World. Don’t miss this area. Stay out of the large city. A vineyard hotel up high would be the perfect place. You’ll be able to drive through wonderful small villages in your way. Once in your hotel you’ll probably have access to a great personal or very small tour of the vineyard production facilities. We were invited to walk in the vineyard all we wanted. Views are absolutely amazing. We also stayed at the Barrel hotel which was touristy and filled with buses. Get up and away from the tourist crowd. We drive there Valley by car. It was easy and gorgeous.

Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food.

Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food. It is worth doing a wine tasting with visit to know the details about wine making and the varities of grapes. The landscape is exquisite and you feel an inner peace looking down the Douro river and the vineyards. The people are warm and happy, always ready to help. It is better to go by car to enjoy the full potential of the region. Be prepared to drive on hills with many curves and narrow roads. They also produce olive oil and it is delicious!!!

I really enjoyed the personal service and the fact that the whole vibe was very friendly and the business family run. The shared dining experience made it interesting as we got to speak to other guests which we might not do in a larger hotel. The food was tasty (especially the pumpkin balls :-) ). We were also given lots of lovely wines and ports. Miguel explained everything and was very personable.

Magnificent hotel with wonderful views over the Douro valley and vineyards. Beautiful room. Beautiful pool, which blends perfectly with the surroundings. Nice breakfast, which was not served outside with us, despite nice weather. Good dinner, served in beautiful dining room with classic hearth. Perfect location, 15 min (drive) from Pinhao.

The amazing service. A lovely family run hotel. Newly built. Magnificent views. The lady woke up an hour earlier than scheduled to provide us with breakfast as we had to leave early to get to Porto to catch a train. Cannot rave enough about this place. The best accommodation we have had in Portugal. 11 out of 10!!!!

A very modern, clean and beautiful hotel, run by a family that are passionate about making sure their guests have a good time. Excellent facilities, the pool was particularly welcome in the 39 deg C heat, as was the air conditioned rooms. The views down and across the valley are spectacular.

Secluded area with stunning views. Chic ambience . I would suggest this property for 1/2 nights but just staying in the hotel by the pool relaxing reading. The food was very good ( and I’m a foodie )
