The location is superb in the area around, with such big house with a lot of plantings. The kitchen facilities are excellent with a lot of amenities for a family to use. There are two bathrooms and three toilets, very enough for a big group. There is laundry as well. We have a very comfortable stay indeed. Port wine is provided for us to taste and it is a warm treat by the host

New, modern and very peaceful guest house. The hosting family are the nicest people, very attentive and welcoming, making us feel at home. The room was of good size, spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The guest house offers an excellent atmosphere, very quiet and relaxed. Dinners were excellent, a real treat. Appreciate the kindness and professionalism of all staff and especially of Erica (front desk) on the flexibility with our reservation. Dinner is on the high end in terms of quality and appearance - local products at the level of fine dining. Appreciate the wine tasting offered to guest and the dedication of staff to explain the different wine grapes and types. Advise to try the LBV port produced in loco!

Stay more than one night and explore: it pays dividends.

Stay more than one night and explore: it pays dividends. Have a look at Favaios and try the Cooperative's Moscatels, walking in the hills, go and see the palaeolithic art (about an hour away). One or two nights is not enough, especially if you include port tasting too! And there is always the poolside to relax when you dont want to do anything!

The area is just beautiful, stunning.

The area is just beautiful, stunning. There is a sense of awe that overcomes you and the natural surroundings... probably because how narrow the roads are and how high up are. It is worth the drive and the wine and olive oil in the area are exquisite.

One of the most beautiful places in the World.

One of the most beautiful places in the World. Don’t miss this area. Stay out of the large city. A vineyard hotel up high would be the perfect place. You’ll be able to drive through wonderful small villages in your way. Once in your hotel you’ll probably have access to a great personal or very small tour of the vineyard production facilities. We were invited to walk in the vineyard all we wanted. Views are absolutely amazing. We also stayed at the Barrel hotel which was touristy and filled with buses. Get up and away from the tourist crowd. We drive there Valley by car. It was easy and gorgeous.

Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food. It is worth doing a wine tasting with visit to know the details about wine making and the varities of grapes. The landscape is exquisite and you feel an inner peace looking down the Douro river and the vineyards. The people are warm and happy, always ready to help. It is better to go by car to enjoy the full potential of the region. Be prepared to drive on hills with many curves and narrow roads. They also produce olive oil and it is delicious!!!

This is a very special place. The Quinta has been very well refurbished with lovely interior designs by Pierre Yovanovitch. It has the most beautiful views overlooking the vineyards and the Douro River. We had a room in the main building of the hotel which was very comfortable. Enjoyed our time by the infinity pool where you can sit under the trees looking out at the view. Very friendly staff. Liked the way self-service coffee, drinks and snacks were available. Breakfast was very good. Great wines.

Wonderful family run hotel in the heart of the Duoro Valley - perfect for hiking and visiting vineyards. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely and a really nice breakfast as well
