There was a major construction work underway nearby (a new metro line). Unfortunately this was one reason why we used the wrong bus service to Foz, the sea-side resort. The 500 bus is the one that worked out much better and followed the river. The train station, Sao Bento, is near the hotel and you can get a train ride along the Douro from there although it takes about 1 hour and 25 minutes before you see the river.

Walkable if you don’t mind steep hills in places, though there is public transport. Interesting architecture and great views from various viewpoints. Good food. Friendly locals. Tomas Coffee Brunch good value and good food for breakfast/brunch. Honest Greens on Santa Catarina good healthy food. Enjoyed sitting by the river having a drink and listening to the street music.

Porto is a lovely friendly city which you can walk all over (even with the hills!). There is a lot to see and do within the city and even more in the surrounding area: Douro valley, Paiva walkways, Braca. There are numerous restaurants to choose from at reasonable prices.

Porto is so far my favorite city in Portugal. It is varied and has a small city vibe (vast and diverse offering without seeming overwhelming). the Atlantic ocean is 5K away, easily walked to along the Duouro river.

Porto is very much a working city so quite noisy and lots of building work but nice to feel it wasn't just a tourist destination although there is plenty for tourists to do, including port tasting obviously! Recommend the cathedral and railway station for interesting architecture. Lots of authentic restaurants away from the centre. Be prepared for steep streets and steps but worth the climb for great views. Not disabled friendly, difficult access around town and monuments. Wouldn't bother walking all the way to the Contemporary Art Gallery - bit of a disappointment. Weather changeable in February, particularly as a Port City but plenty of bars to shelter in.

Stayed for a week as we didn't want a multi-centre trip, but I would recommend probably 4 days in Porto and 3 days up the Duoro Valley. Porto is great for architecture, food options, safety, the transport network. The locals were amazingly friendly and helpful. There is a lot of building work going on at present to extend the Metro and to add a new line. Consequently there are many diversions and some spoiled views. Porto is built on a hill on each side of the river. Walking up and down the slopes was quite tough and if your mobility is reduced then your stay could be rather challenging (if not largely impossible). On the whole we felt Porto is a fabulously interesting place to visit.

Location is priceless . terrace on the6 this amazing to dort out imressions of the day and enjoy a bit nice viee before going to bed. staff is small in number but pure gold. Receptionest Virginia lands a book about Portugal and helps with plans for the day. The waiter Tiego at the Top Roof Terrace Bar is the friendliest andkibfest of people and also versed on turist dilemmas. Breakfast is excellent! The team is so good that one foes not mind the concept of a small hotel. i will recommend to all friends and will return.

It was my favourite Stay on our trip through Portugal! It felt like an Oasis in the middle of the city, and when you're at the Hotel you can't really believe how close you actually are to the city centre. The garden and the pool really gave it a very special and calm vibe. The staff was also very nice and super helpful and made us feel very welcome. There's a wine bar right outside the venue with excellent wines and a cool atmosphere. I would definitely return and recommend this place 100%.

My favorite place we stayed in all of Portugal!! The apartment was beautiful, sparkling clean and so comfortable that it was hard to leave. Rita gave us an in-depth review of Porto with many of her recommendations. The bottle of wine when we checked in and the pastel de nata hanging on our door on our last day were really sweet touches. Also, the apt is really centrally located and everything we wanted to see was in easy walking distance. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, great and nice people. You can leave your baggage after check-out. Location is also great, in walking distance to all touristic locations, surrounded by a tons of cafes and restaurants. Really good price for this location. We were in January, and even with heater it was a little bit cold in the room, but it is more about overall Portugal problem, we met this problem in every hotel that we have stayed in this trip.

Everything was superb; we felt welcomed and looked after form the minute we arrived. Flawless service. The best breakfast; a super-comfortable room; large bathroom; friendly staff. And when we needed extra help (laundry, flight check in problems), the hotel exceeded all expectations. Joana, Ricardo and the team are the best. We've stayed in dozens of hotels in Europe (and more than 10 in Portugal) and Infante Sagres is now our favourite.

Everything, the personnel was very helpful, provided very good information on where to go, what to see, and even advice for the next leg of our trip to Portugal. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. Our balcony was looking at the parking space, we didn't mind it at all - it was nice and quiet and we could sit peacefully outside ! :) The location of the hotel is good, walking distance to everything. Couldn't recommend it more.

The location was excellent--So close to everything! Every single staff member was exceedingly kind and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. The always open roof terrace was perfect with its panoramic views of Porto. Everything was absolutely wonderful and sleek and clean. This was the best hotel we stayed in while travelling Spain and Portugal.

Our favourite stay of our Portugal holiday - the apartment is beautiful inside with an art deco feel to the design. We wanted to stay in the apartment for longer because of its homely and comforting feel. Sitting outside on the balcony showcases how well located the apartment is - it is in the best spot for everything Porto has to offer.

Very helpful and kind hosts. The hotel is located on a street on good place for walks around the city, close to metro and next door from a good restaurant. Room was clean and well furnished. Breakfast was tasty, on an outdoor porch. Overall a very good introduction to Portugal which made our stay awesome.
