Liked · My cousin and I came on a winter break and we could not have chosen better. Marta contacted us before we even arrived with check in details and access instructions as we were arriving late. However despute lateness Helder met us there and showed us our apartment. The apartment is gorgeous, absolutely spotless with great thought given to what you might need. Aside from the usual kitchen utensils there were containers in case you wanted a picnic, there were umbrellas, beach towels and beach umbrellas. There were also fluffy robes and slippers, gorgeous bathroom products,(shower gel, shampoo, conditioner), plus vanity kits, toothbrushes, and sewing kits. The bathroom was well lit and the shower, large, and good pressure. The bed, well what can I say, it is without doubt the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, add the high thread count sheets for a five star experience. We had a lovely little balcony which was perfect for morning coffee and evening wine. A bottle of which had been left in the fridge. There is also a lovely roof terrace hidden from view but with lovely views across the rooftops. We had a couple of questions such as getting the TV to work and what pods the coffee machine took as we wanted to buy more, these were answered via WhatsApp promptly and in such a friendly way, each time with a recommendation of things to do or places to eat. Overall this really was a five star experience and, as I like Faro for a winter break I feel I have really found a home away from home. Actually that's not true, Solar Mendonca is better 🙂

Really close by 5min walking to the center and by 15min to the harbor (marina). Room had a little terrace to chill and dry things. They are cleaned everyday. 15min by car to the airport.

Our flight out of Faro was delayed for 24 hours and so we booked a room at Hotel Ibis Faro Algarve. All of our stress about the delayed flight melted away once we spent the afternoon in the sun by the quite and relaxing pool. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was awesome to have access to a computer and printer to print our boarding passes. Great place to stay that is close to the airport with a fantastic pool and very comfortable beds!

Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.

Faro is a quiet seaside town and I very much enjoyed our stay. We went to the local beach, explored the town of Faro and had a day trip to explore the Algarve Coastline. We had some time to relax as well. There are lots of shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed the tapas dishes at A do Pinto. Burned cheese, pork cheek, and grilled squid were absolutely delicious.

Faro is a great quiet little city compared to others like...

Faro is a great quiet little city compared to others like Lisbon in Portugal. The old town is lovely and relaxing to walk around. I would always recommend for those looking more local and quiet break to try Quarteira near by - large beach with easy access on your doorstep with amazing bakeries, and can do day visits easily into Faro city. Would always recommend getting the ferry from Olhao to Armona Island for a relaxing day of beaches and quietness.

It’s very rustic and the old town is beautiful in that way. We went for a sunset boat trip which was excellent and our highlight in Faro was a tile painting workshop at 900atelier (which we’d recommend to anybody!). We also visited Olhao for a brief day visit and use Faro as a base to visit Seville for a few nights over the border in Spain

A nice mix of interesting buildings, good restaurants and cafes, opportunity to see bird life. Recommend one day for sightseeing and one day for boat trips (recommend the eco tour birdwatching trip). You only need 2-3 days. We found a superb family run restaurant round the corner from our hotel - “local by gois”

Known as the secret town, it’s filled with cozy coffee bars and fantastic places to eat. The cathedral and the Church of Bones are incredible sights to behold. The bustling big marketplace and the charming indoor market are equally delightful.

Vibrant city, felt very safe there, lots of varied restaurants catering for all price ranges. Outdoor music down by the marina always entertaining. Lots of history. We like to eat in the local restaurants found in many of the side streets. We visit the Anchor bar which is quaint, has a lovely playlist and the lady serving who is there for years is always so friendly, offering plenty local information.

We arrived early morning and Marina allowed us to drop off our bags so we could go exploring. The hotel is only a short drive from the airport and in a great area for exploring Faro. The hotel was spotless. Marina was so friendly and welcoming. I am lactose intolerant and she went out her way to make me dairy free options for breakfast which is a beautiful way to start the day on the roof terrace listening to birds. I can't recommend this hotel enough. Thanks Marina for making us feel so welcome.

This hotel is locates right next to the harbour in an excellent location a short walk from restaurants and the centre of Faro. The rooftop bar has stunning views down over the harbour and towards the beach. The staff were friendly and room clean albeit ours was/ little small. The breakfast was what you would expect without blowing you away. Not really any negatives would definitely stay again.

Perfect location, located on a small and quiet street in center of Faro, closed to everything( Train, bus station, restaurants etc). Madam Maddalena is very kind and easy to communicate. We got 2 hours earlier check-in. Feel so sweet to have small cookies in room. The stay there is more like 5 star hotel. We even extend one night more and will come back in the future.

The location to the airport was fantastic. The fact that there was also a very good restaurant in the hotel was an added bonus. The hotel rooms were a good size and although relatively basic, had everything you needed and were clean. The pool was a nice bonus, as it meant my grandson could spend his last few hours in Portugal in the pool.
