Park Central    

The staff was usually friendly. The folks behind the desk sometimes seemed stressed out, but the elevator guys and the staff roaming the halls was always welcoming and warm.

This stay had one frustrating thing after another. All of them not huge, but not the kind of service or convenience I'd expected from a nice midtown hotel. (I used to work as an event planner in the neighborhood, so I know the area including many hotels and restaurants well.) First, when I checked in, they did not explain to me how the elevators worked. While someone explained it to me when I got on the elevator confused by why it wouldn't stop on my floor, I found it odd that the staff did not, as a common courtesy, explain the system to guests upon arrival. I too had to explain it to several others over the course of my stay, many of whom were international travelers and were extra confused by the language barrier. The first night I stayed, I got about ten bites on my legs. I told the front desk, and suggested they check for bedbugs (which I know they did because I saw the exterminators the next day. I don't know if they found anything, because the management did not report back to me. I suppose it could have been a spider or something else, but there were definitely uncomfortable--and unsightly--bites, and I would have expected that they would let me know if they discovered anything problematic in the room). They moved me right away, without hesitation, but they moved me to a slightly LESS nice room, which I thought was odd. On the second day, my bathroom tub would not drain. It was fixed after I reported it. I did not know the hotel would be under construction, and the lobby was sub-par, chaotic, and crowded. The "fancy" call system for elevators (with one set of elevators out of service) was incredibly frustrating. I was in town for work, and more than once I found myself late to commitments because the elevators took SO long (more than once a full 20 minutes just to get downstairs). I selected this hotel for two reasons: I needed two beds, which is uncommon in NYC, and because I wanted an on-site fitness center.

The location.

We were 4 in the room and the house keeping usually forgot to place 4 towels and 4 glasses. They didn't wash the glasses everyday either.

Staff was very friendly and hospitable.

The Booking website failed to mention the hotel was undergoing renovations, and many amenities were closed - the restaurant, etc. I was very disappointed with that. Also, they charge you $15 for internet - though the front staff waived the fee as a courtesy.

The location is wonderful. The room is big and very clean and the staff was ready to help and advise.

Maybe "STUPID" point, but beside the coffee maker and coffee that was in the room, there is no suger or other sweetener. We were wondering way...

Nothing

Everything is wrong! Horrible place, dirty linen and curtains, impudent staff, ragged furniture, crazy prices and charges! There was no one reason to stay there! Be careful!

Localization.

We had to change of room because de hotel didn't solve the problem with the shower after 3 days of claime.

Loved the location. Very convenient. Staff was very pleasant.

Didn't realize it was undergoing renovations. No amenities..example walked three blocks to go to another hotel for use of gym. No restaurant. no real lobby. Thought I was getting a renovated room.. our room had watermarks going down wallpaper. Very disappointed for the amount of money we paid. $1000.00 for two nights..please!

Under renovations---very disappointed--no bar, no fitness center, no business center, no lobby, no restaurant. Had I known this I would have chosen another hotel. I should have been informed. I felt quite cheated

The location.

Everything was being renovated and we were not informed. The restaurant was closed, there was no room service, and the main entrance and lobby were completely closed up.

The Construction is awful and the employees did not know details about the gym membership or hours of the partner gym - on a Sunday I was sent there early "it is open 24/7" to get there and find out they did not open until much later. On Monday they sent me there with a free one day pass but neglected to tell me that I needed a picture ID and I didn't get in that day as well........not informed

Friendly staff always willing to help. I think when the reservations are complete the hotel will be even better. Perfect location to everything in New York.

Room and the cleaning

Reception and the way i was betreated. I stayed 3 times i n your hotel. Im very disappointed the last time. I never made a reservationen in your hotel. See my comment to Booking.com and the internet.

Location.Very quiet

Lobby remodel. Lobby closed.Air conditioner turned and knobs to control removed so you could not turn on. For the cost of this hotel they still charged $12.00 for WHFI,

Ice machine wasn't working. Hotel under remodeling. No restaurants open inside hotel as listed.

Location close between Time Square & Central Park.

Rude service at counter. Ice machine out of order for days. Lifts out of order. Room hallway stank of smoke.

Hotel was under renovation, staff was freindly and helpful. Room was just renovated

the drain in the tub did not work and the toilet also had a drain problem. You had to let the hotwater run for a while before it got warm/hot. The condiments were not in the bathroom and housekeeping had to bring them to the room.
