I liked this hotel, a couple of miles out of Melksham. In a grand stone manor building, it is well presented with beautiful public spaces, a restaurant, and some lovely rooms. The lovely outdoor swimming pool was heated to a warm temperature which was nice. It has nice grounds to wander around in, and it was quiet at nighttime, with just the birds to wake you up. Our room on the ground floor was a quiet, cosy twin, we had enough space just to pull the twin beds apart to make some space between the beds. Great, strong shower over the bath. A fridge and tea making facilities. We ate dinner one night in the restaurant, it was very nice food. Breakfast is served in there every day. The staff were lovely and super helpful.

So cozy and comfortable cottage…stays true to its name…loved every bit of the stay Everything you need was accommodated..would strongly recommend to book in summers to enjoy the pool Walks around the property are easy and animals (sheep’s, hen etc) are very friendly Wake up to all the sounds that nature could offer you All in all- excellent and happy stay and the host were very friendly and quick to answer no matter where they are geographically Location - very accessible and gps takes you right into the property Food places around- Lacock, Chippenham and Melksham Groceries - all leading supermarkets in either of those places Very much suitable for friends upto 6 or a family of 4. Beautiful and relaxing trip to the countryside. The staff and facilities at Bowood made this trip unforgettable. The rooms are exceptional with a modern touch that makes you feel like royalty. the views from the balcony onto the gold resort are spectacular. We had a very tasty dinner at the restaurant, took the duck which was cooked to perfection. Great options for morning breakfast as well.
