Set at the foot of the Amatola Mountains, the Manderson Hotel offers a pond-shaped outdoor pool shaded by green trees. A full English breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace. They were quite accomodating for check in and checked out times even arranged transport from the lodge to town.

Located in Stutterheim, Rockdell Lodge provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a shared lounge. The host Kim went out of her way to accommodate me and the stay at the lodge. I was greeted with a cold beer at their modern Lappa. The facilities are modern and clean with everything you need to self cater so the braai in the evening was very nice overlooking the bushveld and the sound of the river
