Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Maybe the bathroom need some renovation.

Neighbourhood is not very nice, but still the location is good, as it takes only 10-15 min by foot to the nearest beach and city center. The apartment is on the ground floor so it's a bit dark, there was a mold smell coming from the bathroom, that spread trough the apartment. After a few days of ventilation it almost disappeared.
Host Eli is very friendly, although she doesn't speak english, we somehow managed to communicate. She changed the bed sheets and towels often. Very nice women. Location is good. It is clean, beds are comfy. Apartment is in the shade, so it's always nice temperature inside, no need for AC.

The personal doesn’t speak English, German or Spanish. We tried to communicate with the translator but it was still impossible. The owner also tried to charge us more than the price booking said.
It’s close to the city Center and port and it’s also near a supermarket

Some facilities such as the bathroom left a lot to be desired, the bathroom is flooded, and the mattress is very hard

My appartament was cosy and very comfortable. Airco was great. It is family renovated appartament building with super nice, always helpfull owners. It was super clean and quiet. The place is about 2 min from big supermarket and 10 from promenade and local beach. I highly recomend this place!

The kitchen felt a bit under equipped but we made do. The big thing was that the sandwich maker short-circuited as soon as I plugged it in, the grill fell apart, and we were left without electricity in the whole apartment. It was easy-ish to fix, as in I went downstairs to ask the lady for help, and she was kind enough to let us toast our bread in her own kitchen while she fixed it.
The location was pretty good, not too far to walk to the center or beaches, although the area looked a bit sketchy because it wasn't on the main road. Finding the place was very hard because we didn't know exactly where it was - for reference, you have to go up the road on the side of the stadium! The apartment was super super comfortable, from the bathroom to the terrace. The big windows were very much appreciated as well. The lady that manages the apartment lives in the building as well, so it was very easy to get support for everything, even if she didn't speak so much English. We had an incident with the electricity and she was even kind enough to let us use her kitchen to toast our bread while she fixed it! Amazing lady, she really looks after you.

The location a bit further away from the promenade, but still in walking distance. Not very close to the beach, ended up renting a car and driving to Ksamil. The host checks the rooms everyday

The apartment was great and the host is super friendly. Good conditions, you can find all facilities and the service it's always great. It's the second time that i stay at this apartment and i will come back for sure. Highly recommended

1 km away from Saranda public beach. That is the only place in Sarande where you can put your own parosault and tower.
Elli is a wonderfull and helpful person. We had some problems with kid's stomack, they were trowing up all night, with diarhea. She said "sheets and towels, no problem", giving us a lot of sheets. Apartment is spacious, with everything one need. Kitchen, bathroom, living room and badroom, very good value for a price.

The apartment basically had no shower box, just a long faucet. This was not clearly stated in the description nor on the pictures. Also, it wasn't very clean.
The location was ok and just for a few days it was ok to stay there. Nevertheless, you can find so much better for the same €€.

Shower curtains were short, door for bathroom is opening from the wind by itself, and some days we didn't got any warm water at the evening. Anyway it was great apartment.

We didn't always have hot water in the shower. Also the bed was very hard and my husband had difficulty sleeping on it. A neighborhood dog was barking too much during the night. If we would have shut the bedroom window it would have helped but my husband likes fresh air.
Location was excellent. Our hosts were beyond kind. We got regular cleaning and linens. WiFi was strong. Our apartment was good sized. We enjoyed seeing the Wimbledon finals on the TV. Our hosts even did a load of laundry for us without charge. The supplies were sufficient to be able to cook meals on site. It is very close to a very big supermarket. We plan to go back but rent a different room.
