Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Orhan at reception was very helpful. When our room safe didn't work, he offered use of safe at front desk until their repairman could fix it. Room had mini fridge, kettle for coffee & tea, large wardrobe, his & her bathrobes, desk, sitting area and bedside reading lamps. Excellent breakfast served at rooftop restaurant with great view.

United States of AmericaThough the rooms were gorgeous, the mattresses were a bit hard. But, the other stuff was so great, I didn't care that match. The one thing that truly irritated me had to do with credit card payments. The property told me that their machine would only accept 2 x 100 manat transactions in a single calendar day, This ended up with the property having to run 6 separate charges to pay out my hotel bill over several days. They then had to borrow a credit card machine from an adjacent property to finish me out. If a hotel is going to be listed on this platform as taking credit cards, they need to up their game on how they process patron's credit card payments. I was left wondering if the hotel had somehow set its credit card machine to have a lower limit just to squeeze customers into paying cash for their stay.
This small boutique hotel had beautifully appointed, spacious and comfortable rooms. The location right next to the Maiden Tower in Old Town Baku is spectacular. Breakfast was hearty (and good). Breakfast was served in a super gorgeous rooftop restaurant overlooking the view. Staff were gracious.

United KingdomWe were there for 5 nights so breakfast was a bit samey (although very nice). The bed was quite hard, but that may be personal preference.
Lovely room with a seating area. Well appointed and great to have a kettle and fridge. The bathroom was a good size with good water pressure in the shower. Fab location in the old town and walkable to the main sights. Rooftop bar was lovely (note - it doesn't serve alcohol).

SingaporeThere is no lift. So if you have several luggage, you need to lug them up a 4 or 5 steps up to the main door and another 10 steps up to the reception. But that's OK as I'm very sure the reception boys will help you. The television has no English channel. You'll have to access your personal Netflix account to watch movies.
We enjoyed our stay in Azerbaijan. Experiencing their culture, food, the Old City, visiting the Fire Mountain, the friendly people. But what really makes our trip complete and satisfying is the services and warmth the hotel staff provides us. Our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to Alekber, Elvin, Orkhan, and Ravan who has been so nice in making sure our needs are met and our stay pleasant. Thank you guys. Location of hotel is good in the Old City. There is a Terrace restaurant on the top floor that serves very good quality food at reasonable price. Lastly, the room is large, comfortable, and spacious.

CanadaThe inn is as elegant and beautiful as an Oriental fairytale, but what impressed me the most is the service. The dignified manner, the politeness and the hospitality of the staff who treat you as a dear guest in their country is something I have not experienced for years. They are there for you 24 hours. The location turned out perfect. From my room (#8, second floor, spotless, two French windows, electric fireplace, large well-designed shower) I could see the Maiden tower and the Caspian on the horizon (all I dreamed about). The view from the restaurant (open 24 hours) - on the terrace on top - is breathtaking. At breakfast (delicious, made to order) you watch the rooftops of the city slowly waking up and at night you are as if soaring over the city lights of the Baku Bay. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet, with some live music playing. After a day of walking, I came up just for a pot of local tea and dessert and it was amazing. I would like to thank all the staff for this wonderful experience. I would definitely come back. Some possibly useful details. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. If you install the Bolt app, it's 7 manat. I just took a taxi for 30 manat (beautiful drive). A 7 minute walk takes you down to the water - to the Baku boulevard. Nizami street with busy night life and restaurants is 5 minutes away. The location is quiet on one hand, but on the other hand it's not dark or remote to be scary at night. The entrance is well lit and opens to a square with a historic monument. It felt really safe.

The hotel has a superb location. It is located in the Old City, 1 minute from the Maiden Tower, and within a short walking distance to many of Baku's famous landmarks and historical sites. The Caspian Sea is also just a few minutes from the hotel. The terrace on the top floor provides a relaxing view of the Maiden Tower and the sea. The room is tastefully decorated, very classy and atmospheric. However, the real gem of the hotel is the staff. I am very appreciative of Elnaz, Orhan and Firaddin for their exceptional help and support. They made me feel welcome and very comfortable in the hotel and the city.

United States of America-Could use more electrical outlets in the room for recharging smartphones and related items. -Being an old historical building, there is no elevator. The staff graciously brings your luggage to the room for example, but the Breakfast Room is on the 3rd floor (views are stunning!) -There is no TV channel apparently in English. There may have been, but all the words on the menu were in Russian (despite the TV language set to English).
-Overall, this is a stunning five star hotel in an incredible central location in Old Town. It overlooks the nearby Maidens Tower, one of the main tourist attractions of Baku. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, otherwise, this review would be 10 pages long. -The rooms are befitting of the hotels name - Sultan Inn. The ceilings are gloriously high. The window treatments are a rich brown purple with deluxe tie-backs with gold leaf wooden valences. All the doors are 9-10’ high guy u. My room had wooden floors and also a fireplace. The bedroom area is on a slightly raised area (for a little elegance). The ceiling had neat architectural features. -The General Manager is very personable and helpful. I had visa issues getting into the country. The hotel was very patient while I worked out the situation (was in Georgia at the time). -The views from the 3rd floor Breakfast Room are stunning! Breakfast was delicious and included cooked-to-order eggs. The prepared plate of cold items was nothing less than gourmet (cheeses, both hot and cold meats, butter, candied fruits, and various spreads to accompany the big basket of fresh baked goods). -The WiFi worked good. -The water pressure was great with plenty of hot water. -There was daily maid service - a rarity in today’s post Covid world. -The hotel is in a very safe area (even to walk around late at night). -The hotel is extremely easy to find since it’s literally right next to one of the most visited and tallest sites in the Old City, Maidens Tower. After a long day of touring, getting back to your hotel is extremely important! -There are great restaurants and shops only a 2-3 minute walk away.
