Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Rather strange approach up to rooms.
It was what we were looking for. Somewhere comfortable with good shower and the breakfast was very good. Secure parking close by

The floor creaked a little and it was a tad expensive, but understandable since it was for Easter weekend...
A standard ensuite room that faced the lovely square right outside of Leuven station. The outside was lively, with popular bars and people walking around but not noisy. A generous breakfast was included and enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and helpful with my requests to store luggage. This is a great choice for a stay in Leuven! Thanks!

Ligthening in the room was insufficient - for working, for reading....
Everything was perfect in compering with the hotels in Brussels in the same catogory. Location excellent, Breakfast fabulous, room very well furnished.

No tea/ coffee maker in room, but maybe it's asking for too much for the price.
Excellent location, just across the road from train station. Almost the whole town is accessible on foot. Absolute value for money!

Booking.com has a problem with a scam which sends repeated messages that our payment card detail did not go through. This message is generated from inside booking.com but presents itself as a message from the hotel and gives a link to click in order to re enter the datails. Phishing from within? You should deal with that.

The downside was our view coz it was facing the fire exit and the wall but my other companions' room had a very nice view to the city square. They don't have an elevator so it was quite difficult for one of my companions to go up and down the room. And lastly, they don't have a parking so we had to find a spot on the street and pay except from 7PM of Saturday til 7AM (i think) of Monday, it's free.
I love the room, it was very nice. Small room but comfy and cozy. The bathroom was excellent though with a bathtub and super clean. The breakfast was nice too and the personnel were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent coz it's right in the middle of the city and close to everything.

There is no elevator, so going up the stairs may be difficult with heavy luggage or for those with disabilities.
Excellent breakfast and location next to the railway station. Bed and pillow were good. In overall, this was a good hotel and I would stay again.

It is not a good part of town at night. It is very noisy with the cafe in front. You can hardly pass through the people to get to the hotel door with your suitcase. There is no lobby, no elevator. So facilities are poor.
Location is right across the train and bus station, so it was very convenient. Room was decent.

Poor ventilation. The thick air stood still. There was no air-conditioning which made the room damp and hot. A sharp smell of cigarette smoke entered the bathroom from the bar/restaurant. The bathroom needed a good cleaning.
The hotel restaurant gave us a 15% discount. Tasty food. Good service. Lovely breakfast. Spacious room.

The entrance to the hotel is really shabby and the room was piping hot (windows were closed when I arrived, whilst it has been hot outside for a lot time in the country). Luckily, there was an electric fan. Staff could barely manage a smile, were not friendly, hardly exchanged a word with me and couldn’t talk Dutch properly.
The room was quiet within the building and had a nice bathroom.

The safe in the room was not attached to the closet which is a bit weird and counter-productive. Although the staff helped us with our luggage, it's important to note that the hotel does not have an elevator and is not disabilities accessible.
We had everything we needed, including a fan in the room (which is definitely needed in the summer) I read several negative reviews about the beds but honestly found them very comfortable. The breakfast that was included was decent and the staff was attentive. The bathroom was big and the shower was really good and clean. The location is superb and close walking distance to the city center.

there was no AC in the room, and only 1 window that opens up. also the cleaning / maintence staff didn't speak english at all, which made simple stuff a bit more tricky.
the location is amazing, the room is big. breakfast is great. bathroom is big and comfy.
