Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Super little hotel. Well located in the centre of town, 5 minutes easy walk to the cable cars to take you everywhere in La Paz. Beautifully decorated. Great on site restaurant and really good breakfast served up on the roof. Small bar. Laundry service. Staff were amazing - Belen and Angel made our stay. They were so happy, helpful and great fun! Would highly recommend.

United KingdomThe heater in the room was working, However the leaking water drips and it sounds annoyed and disturbed sleep. We managed to stop it.
Good location, friendly and supportive staff. My friend had high altitude sickness and needed the medicine during heavy rain. One of the staff kindly went to pharmacy to buy them.

United KingdomI didn't try the bar but it was quite small. The roof terrace would have been nice but there was work going on. It has to be done though.
The location is great, and its quite peaceful inside and manic outside.

BrazilThe hotel is located on a big avenue so, depending on where your room is located, it can be a little bit noisy. The rooms have noise-canceling windows, so the sound is low - for us, this wasn't a problem.
The location is great, especially if you'll stay in the city just for a few days. As it is in La Paz downtown, you'll be near main tourist spots such as Mercado de las Brujas and Calle Sagarnaga. The breakfast is very good - while enjoying fruits, local bread, and local granola, you can appreciate the view of Iglesia San Francisco.

United States of AmericaFor all three days room heavily smelled of chemicals (possibly cleaning agent). All towels are quite old, thin, and yellow-ish. Strange for a boutique hotel.
La Casona is the best choice if one needs to stay at central location (or rest and get acclimated to altitude). It's very clean, but the charm is in the property itself. It is like a giant old villa, but excellently preserved. Interesting to explore within the hotel, see various artifacts, or just enjoy the terrace. Rooms are spacious, clean, have good hot shower, safe, well restored wooden floors and furniture. Separately, I am greatful to the managementl for resolving a certain towel matter in my favour (staff accused me of leaving dye spots on it after my departure). The lady who translated the incident very graciously handled it. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to defend myself.

United States of AmericaThe positive was also a negative: the location was in the center of a buisy city and was noisy at night. Sometimes we wished we had an air conditioner.
The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the location was great. The breakfest was good, and there was a nice balcony for the dead time we had in La Paz. They have a nice restaurant too.

CanadaRoom was directly on Main Street with lots of traffic noise. Would recommend a room at the side or back of the building if you’re a light sleeper.
Architect of the building, friendly / helpful staff, and central location.

Great location right in the middle of La Paz and just a couple of blocks from the teleferico. Shower had great pressure and hot water. Room was large. Expansive buffet in a beautiful setting. Welcome drink in the bar was a very nice touch.

United States of Americathe towel. they need to change the towel. I have slept in so many hotels and this is the one that I don't like. maybe they need to change their towel because it looks like good enough to be a rug because of the color. I am so sorry to say this but it is not so nice to see the towel looking like it has been used so many times.
my first review was a mistake since I was thinking of the other hotel, I like the hotel because of the location which is really in the heart of La Paz and the hotel itself is like a museum. an old colonial building where the owner was able to display old stuff from the past. it is abut 30 min from the airport depending on the traffic
