Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandGreat location - just on the Chamonix-Zermatt trail! Beautiful view from the hotel. Exceptional common area in living room. The place is renovated with a taste, but you can still feel vibes from XIX century. The owner is very nice and helpful. You have to taste a glass of vine in the living room and enjoy the library, comfy chairs and panorama. Delicious breakfast! Enough to give you energy for all day hike :)

The views from the balconies are Spectacular! 😊 I stayed in a high floor room with 2 balconies and 4 windows. The bedroom and bathroom were huge with charming old furniture! The bed was very comfortable! The room was super clean! The nice couple that own the hotel are very friendly and helpful! He's an excellent chef at dinner time! Also, breakfast was delicious! There's a beautiful waterfall right next to the hotel! Plus, many exciting hiking opportunities in every direction! 😊 The village of La Sage is picture postcard perfect! Neat little chalets everywhere! You will feel like you've arrived in Paradise (in the mountains)! Thanks!

United KingdomOur room was showing signs of wear and tear, and I must have received at least 6 emails on the subject of booking the dinner, even one or two after I had booked.
A charming little hotel with a beautiful salon with incredible mountain views. The dinner we had was spectacular. Nice breakfast with delicious rhubarb jam and lovely fresh bread. Friendly, welcoming staff.

NetherlandsNext time (and I am sure there will be a next time) we will ask for a slightly bigger and brighter room on the front side, so that we can enjoy the vista also from our room. Of course these rooms are also slightly more expensive, but that is worth it.
Location was excellent, with beautiful views on the surrounding mountains, The table d'hotes exceeded our expectations with every evening a wonderful 3 course meal at a reaasonable price.

United States of AmericaOn a beautiful green hillside dotted with chalets sits the lovely Hotel La Sage. Orange and pink hues wash over the village as dinner is served in the corner dining room. Common room above it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. A great stop on the classic Haute Route hike to Zermatt!

United States of AmericaCan't think of a thing in this remote little hamlet surrounded by mountain views and wild flowers. The fresh mountain air is intoxicating up there.
Loved how you could boil an egg at breakfast. Great homemade breads and jams. Good selection of cheese and meats. Got to experience crispy creme, the Swiss made nutella version. Dinner was also amazing. Great coffee and view from the dining room very relaxing. Good selection of wine at dinner.

SwitzerlandA beautiful historic hotel in a wonderfully quiet little village. But that was only the start - we received an extremely warm welcome on arrival and were most impressed with our cosy rooms. While not all have views and the rooms are simply furnished, they are extremely clean and comfortable. The best part of all though was the food. We enjoyed one of the best half-board evening meals we have had in all Switzerland. Delicious and artfully arranged. Breakfast was also included and did not disappoint. I would love to stay here again with my family!

There aren't many options in Le Sage and perhaps because of this I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. After hiking up from Les Haudères, this is the first building you come to when arriving in Le Sage (slightly different from where google maps and maps.me indicated the location). Outdoor seating options were comfy, with nice views. Reception was warm. I opted not to eat dinner at the hotel as it seemed a little expensive, but in retrospect I probably should have. As I was hiking early in the morning, I had to leave before breakfast service, but the staff left food out for me, set up the coffee pot, showed me where I could help myself, obtain the picnic lunch I ordered, and was generally very attentive to detail. The room was fun - rustic and creaky floor with quite an angle, but it added to the charm and was still quite comfortable. Appreciated the very spacious, modern bathroom. The hotel also has a large, beautiful salon with books and games and great views. Really enjoyed my brief stay and highly recommend.

The owners and staff are without exception super kind and welcoming. The building itself is cute and charming, with a beautiful shared salon and comfortably furnished terrace, with outstanding views over the valley and its peaks in all directions. Breakfast is super fresh and plentiful with a wide variety of choices. And if you're lucky you'll have a three-course diner there, freshly cooked by the owner himself who is a real chef! This is a real hotel experience, combining the peace and quiet of the Swiss mountains with a charmful and welcoming vibe by the owners in a beautiful characterful building. I'll be returning whenever in the region!
