Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyEven if I appreciated my stay, I have a couple of suggestions for the management. The fan of the centralized air conditioning is a little bit noisy, and I wasn't able to switch it off. It's a pity, because, for the rest, the room is very quiet. The strongest light in the room is commanded only by a switch near the entrance door. As a consequence, customers typically disconnect the lamp power cord from the power outlet when lying on the bed. Therefore, when entering the room, the light switch does not work: it is annoying when checking in late....
near the train station and the city center. Large and clean room, equipped with a small kitchen. Comfortable bed.

United KingdomDidgital air conditioning/heating difficult to use as both guests are visually impaired. Needed a "Swiss" plug adapter to plug in electrical appliances: laptop, mobile phone etc. 2 pin European plug adapter, but with narrow pins, some Europlug adapters are too big or wide for Swiss plug sockets. No space to put a small table next to one side of bed. Lobby extremely large. No atmosphere. A long walk to/from city centre and shops/eateries.
A kitchenette room on 1st floor of a largest reasonably priced hotel in downtown Lugano. Hotel was extremely quiet, it seemed like we were the only guests. Room was an unusual shape, kind of big, but the pisition of the large double bed, meant it impossible to put a bedside table or cabinent one side of bed. Room had large en-suite bathroom with a good shower with good power and hot water, toilet with paper and a bedai and sink with had soap. Hand and bath towels provided. Bathmatt for the shower. The room had a kitchenette with a small skink and draining board, a cooker with 2 rings, a metal kettle to bowl water on the stove and a microwave and a fridge. Free tea-coffee-hot chocolate and sugar, plus stirrers provided. Key to enter room and building. Small table with 2 metal chairs in room by bed and large window. Didgital air conditioning/heating in room. Lift/elevator to all floors. Free parking next to hotel. 10-15 minute walk to Lake Lugano. 10-15 minute walk to city centre. Main train-bus station reached by bus number 2 or 4, a 5 minute drive. The OK Bar is almost opposite the hotel across a busy road and roundabout. Open from 6 am until midnight. Kitchen closes at 21:00 (9 pm). Friendly, Italian speaking staff, who speak a little English. Serves breakfast food, omelette, etc, tea/coffee, pasta and pizza and some meat dishes, reasonably priced. Friendly and sometimes lively :). Free good speed WiFi in hotel room and building. Italian worded password to access WiFi. Very large lobby. Can get free travel voucher from reception to us public transport in and around Lugano area. Comfy bed, would stay again.

United KingdomLobby and reception area is very arge and I often couldn't find the way to the lift/elevator to our room. Staff often not available between 12.30 pm until 3. pm. Reception closed after 9.30 pm. Had to constantly ask for extra tea/coffee/sugar and toilet paper. Room not cleaned after 4 days. Room is an odd shape, big in some parts, but narrow in other parts. Bed takes up too much space. WiFi a little complicated to access at first if you don't speak Italian. Air conditioning/heating is didgital and hard to change if you have a visual impairment, like my partner and I. City centre for shops-eateries a little far walking. Hotel has no atmosphere when we stayed just before Christmas December 2023.

United States of AmericaReally the only thing that we didn't like about the room was the fact that the bathroom had no space to put any toiletries down and no place to put/hang your clothes while showering. The addition of a simple shelf near the sink would do wonders and a couple of hooks and/or another shelf to put your change of clothes would make this stay perfect.
It was exactly what we expected for the price we paid.
