Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Common bathroom with only one toilet.
Nice location and the staff were kind. Bathroom could be bigger. Basic but tasty bufet breakfast. The room was cosy.

No tv, no kettle and hairdryer not working. You can request for kettle from front desk and they will provide happily.
Easily accessible, 2 bus stops away from Lucerne Train Station and a short 2 mins walk from the bus stop. Room is very clean, no TV, no kettle but has nice view. Shared bathrooms were very clean and no smell at all. Most of the time I used the shared toilet I was alone, as good as private bathroom.

Toilet outside and shared. We were expecting a Q or K-bed, but got 4 singles.
Breakfast has wide variety. Hotel is near town centre.

The location was really nice, about 15 minute walk from the Lucerne Bahnoff train station with lots of local amenities closed by. Breakfast was really good + very accomodating hotel staff.

Wifi access was very poor, whether I was in my room or the TV lounge. Wifi data was supposedly unlimited, but download/upload speeds were very slow, less than 1Mbps. Please improve this.
The showers and bathrooms were shared but were extremely clean, and the room was nicely furnished. It felt comfortable. The included breakfast was very good too.

Nothing to complain about.
Value for the money. Clean and properly maintained room and bathroom. Nice continental breakfast with several options. The owner was also very supportive and cooperative. 5 minutes walk from Luzern train station. The neighbourhood of the hotel was quiet and quiet.

Kettle in the room would have been useful.
A well run quite small hotel. Location: in a quiet and pleasant residential area but short walk to city centre, lake and train station. Room bright, appealing, spacious and well furnished. Room not en suite, but good facilities available. Pleasant staff.

I booked a room with a shared bathroom and the shower stalls had solely two hanger hooks, which somehow had to be enough to place all the things I had to carry with me: my towel, the clothes I was taking off, the clothes I would put on, my room key, my glasses and my shower supplies. At least a small bench or shelf would have been very useful. Which brings me to the other thing that threw me off: they didn't offer shower products, just handsoap. Probably most people prefer using their own anyway, but for me was a nuisance as nowadays I like to travel light and was counting on that.
Very pleasant breakfast area in addition to good food! The staff was super nice and all the spaces were very clean. Even though it's ten minutes walking from the train station, it's a very quiet area, which is something considering I was there during Carnival.

All noises come from side room even wash basin tap as partition of rooms are not sound proof.

This is a very nice hotel close to the centre of the city; also they give you a free transport card which means you don’t have to worry about buying extra train and bus tickets.
