The hotel was quite traditional in appearance. The location was fantastic and the view from one of our rooms with the balcony was lovely. The man at reception, unfortunately I didn't get his name, was was wonderful. He was running around doing everything, and nothing was too much trouble.

Location was excellent was close to attractions. Was walkable. Parking was close and easy to get to. Breakfast was good with some good choices. Room was large we had a balcony. Bed was comfortable even though we were on a busy street, we heard very little street noise.

The check in process was very slow and it was confusing when we arrived - there was only one computer for self check-in. The room was very hot, they came to fix it right away (bonus) but it didn’t help so we opened the windows.

Even though the hotel bathroom was large, the tub was very difficult to climb (maybe 30 inches) so if you are over 65 years old, not the best idea). The only pillows available were goose down & supper soft.

Location was excellent, public transportation within walking distance & lake also. The adjacent restaurant was very good.

** No 2nd chair. Only one chair provided in a room for 2 people – 2nd person had to sit on the bed. ** The room had several ‘sets’ of 2 or 3 Power Points together. However each ‘set’ had a power point being used ie for either the TV / tall lamp / bedside table - the plug/s from these appliances then impinged on the remaining power points, making it very difficult to insert an international adapter – we managed but only just. ** On arrival we had difficulty logging into the wifi but this was sorted within a few hours. ** Suggestion: A retractable clothes line over the bath / shower area would have been appreciated.

A very nice hotel within walking distance of the railway station (800m) or take No. 1 or No. 19 bus from the Railways Station to Lowenplatz Bus Stop being 1 -2 minute’s walk around the corner from the hotel. A handy ‘Coop’ Supermarket at Lowenplatz also. Good location for walking to all the major tourist sights. Our room (Triple Room), was not overly large but accommodated a double bed + a single, a desk & chair, wardrobe & small round ‘coffee’ table. We had a small balcony + street view (through to Lake Lucerne / Alps) BUT quiet with the double-glazed windows closed. There was no air-conditioning but a fan was provided however as our stay was in April, we did not need to use the fan. Our room was clean & the bed comfortable. Central ceiling lighting was a little dim but with the tall lamp + 2 bedside table lights on, all was OK. Pleasingly a foldable luggage rack was provided avoiding having to constantly bend over to work out of one’s case on the floor. Prior to arrival, communication with the hotel staff was fine & reception staff helpful & friendly. Upon check-in, we received ‘Visitor Guest Cards’ for the duration of our stay, giving us access to ‘free’ city-based public transport which proved to be a great saving. The hotel had a lift / elevator & breakfast available for a fee.

As mentioned by previous reviews the hotel is a little outdated but overall does not affect the quality of stay! We maybe would have liked a kettle for a coffee/tea.

The room was very clean including all linen, check-in process was easy and bag storage was super convenient after check out. The highlight of this hotel is its walkable distance to Lucerne city centre/supermarkets etc. Good for a short stay!

There is no AC during March. You have to open window and it’s very noisy. We didn’t have a good night sleep.
