The location, and its just near the Christmas market. Very accomodating staff with great warm vibes; I received a travel pass for around the area which was a pleasant surprise, and when I enquired about breakfast I got invited. Appreciate this kind of service (it becomes hospitality) especially when you are far away from home. Thanks!

Not a great place to stay if you cannot climb stairs.

The staff/owners were super friendly. The rooms clean and beds comfortable. We were also able to park the car at an extra 10 francs behind the hotel. Fantastic location.

Practically all rooms are upstairs, no lift, stairs are narrow and declined - so this hotel is not propper for handicapated persons.

The stairwells weren't exactly the best as it's quite tiny. The bed cover could be less coarse.

The stairs to the upper floors were quite narrow and steep, this didn't bother me but it might if you've a lot of luggage and / or are mobility impaired.

Centrally located, pretty simple old school hotel with rooms up some quite steep stairs! Shared facilities per floor. The room was fine, everything worked and the window opened properly! Very informative and friendly welcome. Overall a good choice for a night or two in St Gallen if you need central location and don't want anything too fancy.

Shower walls had some mould - understandable as the building is quite old. If the hotel ceilings/walls furniture can be updated it would be best.

The location was central- great night life and close to the sights/train station. The duvet and pillow were comfortable. There was a sink in my room -very convenient. BEAUTIFUL VIEW onto st. Gallen. The concierge was kind and helpful. The hotel is great value for money and everything was clean- just a little old.

Be sure to bring a swiss adaptor for charging your electronics. The european adaptors don't work in Switzerland. This hotel does not have multiple types of outlets in the room.

Very close by is a bell that chimes every quarter hour. If you need to keep the window open due to the summer heat, this may disturb your sleep.

Poorly insulated in terms of temperature (it was super cold outside and we could feel it due to the windows which were only single glasing) and noise (could hear a lot of noise from other guests in their rooms but also in the stairs)

Entrance through a pub, make it difficult to get pass customers. No lift and higher floor has narrow staircase. There is opened laundry area on second floor landing where we can see and smell it. There is no facility to boil water for hot drink and space outside our bedroom to sit.

Loud area on the weekends. Old building so the floor squeaks and you wake up every time one of the guests walks in their room. Over a pub so when I arrived at night in my room the whole room smelled of cigarette smoke eventhough my windows were closed. I had a double bed in my room but only a 1-person duvet that covered only half the bed and one pillow for some reason

For the price there is nothing we did not like.

Loved the location. It's less than 5 minutes walk from the railway station, right in the center of the old town and across the Christmas market. The location just can't get better! Loved the helpfulness of the owner.
