Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeThe open corridor leading to the rooms is very run down. Looks like a dilapidated dormitory. Room is very dated. Hotel needs a big makeover.
Resort style hotel with big lobby and nice garden. Plenty of outdoor and indoor activities. Plus point is beach is right at the hotel door step.

RussiaAway from the center, taxi required.
We really liked beautiful and quite area around the hotel. Nice swimming pool and private cafe where we had coffee and ice cream every day. Even though, hotel is 15 min away by taxi from Duty Free mall, still value for money and quite atmosphere were good.

ColombiaSadly Due to the Covid -19 situation, the hotel is operating with certain restrictions, there is only one restaurant open, some of the hotel facilities are not available after 6 pm when normally operate until 10 pm and others are simply closed. The beach is not the strength of this hotel, there is not so much there, when you are on the beach you feel that you are out of the hotel not service there, also the lifeguard is constantly reminding you not to go deep, even knowing it is a very calm bay that barely has waves, you need to explain to him you are able to swim then he stops being annoying.
If you are looking for a Getaway as I did it's the perfect place, location is very good a bit far from the downtown which makes it a quiet place to relax. The room it's very comfortable and spacious, the swimming pool it's huge with a lot of areas to take the sun or stay with friends or family "The staff people are very nice even not all of them speak English they are very polite and helpful" The room service it's good and offers decent western food but if you enjoy Chinese food as I do it's much better, also the hotel has different amenities like a sports courts, Spa, entertainment center with bowling "highly recommend" in general it's a good hotel to stay in.

South AfricaToo much walking. We were placed so far from the elevator. Though we had beach access, there was no swimming allowed. The service was also very bad. Some of the hotel restaurants were closed.
The balcony and bathtub. The pool was nice. The pool and the lobby view is very beautiful. You can stay here if you have no intentions of exploring.

ChinaThere is a general lack of management that extends from poolside service to restaurants: despite friendly and very good willing staff we were quite often left unattended at the poolside and forced to solicit service. Poolside bathrooms hygiene condition not up to standard. Only two restaurants available: chinese one very good although a bit pretentious and “international” one decent with good service.
Nice facility, spacious and comfortable room with sea view, large swimming pool in a very extended and quite area. Ideal for relaxing and getting pampered. Location is secluded and far from city. Breakfast offers plenty of choices both Asian and international with good quality.

ChinaDesk staff weren’t very courteous, the food options are expensive, there is no bathing in the ocean and the rooms need a-bit of updating based on the pricing of the hotel. Suggestion: Renaissance is located on its own peace of heaven with the ocean a stone’s throw away. Some water activities would be an addition.
If you want to get away from everything, this is the spot. Feels like you are in your own little world. Breakfast had many options. The pool lovely. And the beach superb. Eric at the Star Fish poolside restaurant was friendliest member of staff.

ChinaVery far away from Sanya downtown. But if you will walk for 15 min from the hotel you can find a few Chinese restaurants and small shops. Also can call for a taxi and go to China Duty free shop. It’s just 15-17 rmb for one way. There you can find some restaurants (Starbucks, Häagen-Dazs, Burger King and some local Chinese food restaurants) and luxury brands shops (Bally, Kenzo, Gucci, Balenciaga etc).
The hotel is beautiful and very clean. Has a great beach and a big, wonderful swimming pool. Rooms are very spacious. The design is quite simple but I like it. We tried some dishes in the hotel Thai restaurant and they were very very delicious. The restaurant prices are little bit expensive but the food worth it.

ChinaThe location - it is very secluded , far from shops , I could not even find any Western restaurant with 10km's of the hotel which was really disappointing, making any outing costing a lot of money in Didi fares! My room was old and in need of some serious replacement and TLC. Overall it was a tired old room. I cut my stay short firstly because of the pandemic situation but secondly because I did not enjoy my stay, I would not return to this property at all.
The gardens and beach were very beautiful however that was about all. The breakfast was sufficient but catered more to the Chinese taste then Western . Most staff at reception could not speak English but there was one very helpful guy called XY-Hao who really tried to help me .

FranceThe service was really poor, half, 2 restaurant was close on 4, breakfast was not Renaissance expectation with really low choice, big problem of food and service on this hotel. No BBQ outside, no food at night, 1hour to have our food even if we are with kids, when we asked the staff they said no bbq outside and restaurant is close due to COVID restriction but i think is not correct as all other Hotel in Sanya have open restaurant and bbd on beach or outside. Also the swimming pool is not so clean, the room was not clean as well. the beach and sea are with lot of garbage and you can not swim on sea at this place. I really do not recommend this hotel. to sum up, the quality of service, food, commodity and area is not well maintain and not Renaissance/Marriott Standard. There is a lot of Hotel in Sanya with better value for money. We will never go back.
