To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

GermanyVery nice owner and sweet little room. I loved to dogs and the cat. They did charge us more though than listed on booking and I did not understand why. Online it said 50.000 (including taxes and stuff) but they charged us 60.000.

ItalySurrounding area not really safe with darkness, even the taxi driver was scared (we reached at 23.30). Bathroom to be maintained.
Selected because of the proximity to the airport, I can say the room is a reasonable accomodation for 1 night. Bed is comfortable, with the necessary blankets for the cold weather in Bogotà. The owner is really nice, very careful and kind.

NetherlandsSeveral cats and dogs in the property. I arrived at midnight, this was announced, regardless when I arrived, everything was closed. There is no doorbell. It did not feel safe to be in the middle of the street of Bogotá, without anyway of reaching the host. They should be more aware of guests arriving or instal a doorbell!!

Arubanot enough streetlights. its a house. although the stay is cheap it doesn’t justify that a dangerous surrounding.
