We absolutely loved our stay at Origen and wished we could stay there for longer. Will and all his team were so hospitable and helpful. The whole place was stunning, set in a beautiful botanical garden, surrounded by wildlife, we saw iguanas, humming birds, toucans, parakeets and tortoises - all from by the pool. The pool was a great place to cool down in the hot weather and relax, as well as chilling out in the hammocks. The room we stayed in was lovely and spotless, with glorious fluffy white towels which was a delight after travelling for a long time. The food was delicious and great portions. Will was such a great host and helped us out with our trip into the park and then return travel back to Santa Marta as well as being a great guy to chat to.

Location of the hostel is magical definitely a recommendation for everyone planning to stay around Tayrona. It’s close to the town but just far away to sleep surrounded by wildlife. Staff is very friendly too.

Amazing on basically all levels. It is a definite trek into the jungle (on a dirt road with multiple river/stream crossings), but it is such a lovely oasis in the jungle. Dorms are comfy and clean, as is everything else. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Wow . What a place. A perfect jungle chill spot after adventures in Tayrona National park. The food was exceptional. The staff were also so kind and couldn’t do enough to help us.

Bear in mind that you are paying for the secluded and exclusive location in two ways - Firstly the journey to the hotel from the main road, a 20-minute walk or a 10 minute moto-taxi ride that is not for the faint hearted ! Neither is the walk after dark. Secondly - the price itself of course is considerably higher than other places - understandable, but for double the price of other hostels in the area, it is somewhat disappointing that breakfast is not included and there are other small charges that crop up for things. It’s all stated in advance so not a huge issue just worth being aware of.

This place is fabulous. The setting is stunning in the midst of lush nature and all in exquisite taste. The pool area is beautiful as are the surroundings. The staff are friendly and willing to help with any query.

Most of the staff were lovely, just one guy didn’t seem to enjoy his job and having to respond to guests questions (maybe just had a bad day though 😉).

Wonderful hideaway in the jungle, beautifully designed pool and restaurant, great food. Definitely go there!

There was a fan in the room which was nice and quiet but unfortunately it didn’t move much air and so the night was quite hot.

The jungle surrounds were beautiful and the communal chill area was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Loooved the location of this hostel: close to Tairona, but far enough into the jungle to see tons of wildlife (bats, birds, monkeys, lizards..🫶🏻). The food was worth every penny and vegetarian, there's also a few restaurants close by. Perfect place to take it easy and explore nature!

There are not enough sockets in the dorm and they are far away from the bed.

Amazing location and place, very kind staff, a heated pool around which hummingbirds and toucans fly, monkeys also come to visit. Very comfortable jungle stay. And good food!

There was an error with the assignment of the beds and someone put stuff on my bed whilst I was in the pool. When I contacted the guy in the reception he told me to not be rude because it wasn't his fault. Well, I know that for sure it was not my fault. I had a wonderful experience at Origen if it wasn't for this episode with the reception, utterly disappointing I have to say.

The location is great for those looking for some peace in the jungle. Close to the El Zaino entrance of the Tayrona. The facilities were beautiful and spotless clean! Amazing! Comfy beds! The vegan food from the kitchen was definitely one of the highlights. As well as the pool, absolutely beautiful! The receptionist from Switzerland was super nice and helpful!

Toilets were a bit far from the room, so if you need to pee in the middle of the night, be prepared for an adventure to get there lol

I loved the pool and the chill out area at the reception. And the super calm and relaxed vibe there. Also, the beds in the dorms are very spacious and comfortable. Also, you could always get a refill of fresh and filtered water for free.

I like more spices with my food.

The fantastic tropical garden, the swimming pool. The friendliness of the staff. The area to eat with the hammocks. Healthy food .
